Showing in Don’t Let That Horse Eat That Violin, opening Thursday 15th October 6-9pm @ascgallery, London.

Don’t Let That Horse Eat That Violin is the first group show by Painters’ Painters, a network of likeminded artists built online. It brings together a selection of painters wholly committed to their medium, who share an investment in the particular possibilities of paint. The show is an attempt to highlight the endlessness of such possibilities.

Together, these artists demonstrate the world-building capacity of paint. It can hold intimacies and desires that exist outside of language, narrative scenes that don’t exist at all, and—perhaps most importantly—a space where the playful, the mournful and the mundane are all welcome. Put simply: because painters paint, a horse can eat a violin.

Thank you to Stella Capes of F I E L D W O R K, Jess Ash (@jesseash100) from @rca_painting, ecologist Jamie McEwan from @kingsdalehead and Painter Daniel Sinsel (@daniel_sinsel_) for leading a day of workshop activities in Ingleton. As part of a @royalcollegeofart impact funded events that utilise art practises and processes, alongside ecological restoration techniques. The workshop focussed on colour and materiality, responding to the ecology of Kingsdale Head Farm site.

HUGE thanks and gratitude to @abihampsey for the thoughtful invitation and thank you to @well.good.bread for supplying the lunch. Quality!

It was so good to share the day with fellow North and North West based artists. Especially, such a well supported group of artists from Morecambe! taken in Kingsdale Head Farm by @_adamrawlinson

to it, you are everything

THANK YOU! to everyone who came down to see the exhibition at @paradiseworks_ which concluded last week. Thanks to everyone who came to the opening and across the weeks it was open. Thanks to @freya.wysocki and @kelan.andrews for being so helpful and being an absolute dream to work and exhibit alongside. Thanks to @kaytwoods_ for considered and expert curation. Thanks to the Haworth Trust for making the exhibition possible and for their support in the last year, providing essential material and studio bursaries. These new works would not have been possible without your generosity and willingness to support the arts.

Thanks to my friends and my family and thanks to Marnie for being a super star always. 🌟

Thank you everyone, lots of love. 💝 taken in Paradise Works by @_adamrawlinson

to it, you are everything.

Bringing together new work by @kelan.andrews , @_adamrawlinson and @freya.wysocki , the exhibition explores our relationship with the natural world through material experimentation, abstract observation and quiet moments of reflection.

Created during the artists’ Haworth Trust residencies at Paradise Works, ‘to it, you are everything’ invites visitors to consider how we exist alongside the world around us, finding beauty in the everyday and encouraging a slower, more thoughtful way of looking.

The exhibition is open 12-4pm on 22nd and 23rd August.
