On Wednesday, 5 February 2025, the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (link to CNA video in bio) was delivered in the Parliament of Singapore by MP Louis Ng. The motion called for greater government support for groups such as AFR-SG and Monolith, on the following key areas:

1️⃣ Registration Flexibility
2️⃣ Streamlined Process for Application of Permits to Fundraise for Foreign Charitable Causes
3️⃣ Waiver of the 80-20 Fundraising Rule

AFR-SG supports the recommendations made: calling for the government to 𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 groups like ours to grow and evolve in a supportive ecosystem, for policies to 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 people to be charitable within and beyond our borders.

🚀 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙉𝙚𝙭𝙩?
We will continue to 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 with government stakeholders to drive meaningful change. If you’re passionate about making a difference, register for our volunteer recruitment below!

An afternoon of movement. A community united by purpose. 🤍

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for Pilates for Purpose with @resetpilates.co

What began as a Pilates class became an opportunity to learn, connect, and stand in solidarity with refugee communities across the region. Through movement and meaningful conversations, we were reminded that advocacy begins with awareness—and that collective action, no matter how small, can create lasting impact.

We're grateful to share that 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 from the event will support 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻 (formerly Geutanyoe Malaysia), helping refugee survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).

A special thank you to our incredible partners:

🧵 @_mangtha

To everyone who attended, donated, listened, and asked thoughtful questions—thank you. Your support extends far beyond one afternoon.

𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗴𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱. 💛
