for more context , i wanted to chat a bit more about the projects worked on by the business this past year.

i had the opportunity to work with the following organizations:

@etonschoolwa
@wanawariseattle
@populushotel_seattle
@common_area
@wtctheater

is this something y’all would want to hear more about?

alright had to grind it out for my finals but we made it ! yes yes i’ve officially graduated with my Master of Science in Library and Information Science with highest honors. truly i say to you this has been one of my greatest life lessons. i started this 2yr journey as a different version than the one that stands before you today. it’s an honor to be chosen to bare the legacy of librarians and information professionals alike , and continue to expand on this field of work.

as many of you know our current administration has done some work in defunding the magic that are libraries and museums. Carla Hayden, the former Librarian of Congress, was recently fired by Tr*mp, Hayden was both the first Black person and the first woman to hold this position. we must take a stand on the historical repositories that continue to inform who we are today.

thank you for rocking with me in all the versions of ali . life is something to be cherished and it’s been my privilege doing it with you all.

love peace n’ liberation- ali, mslis

( to my haters i love u too and i’m always for the drama so leggo . )

what is JCLC? oh glad you asked! it’s an acronym for Joint Conference of Librarians of Color, a council held within the American Library Association, and they hosted their conference this October in WA state!

I was excited since it was in my home state and absolutely wanted to network with my fellow librarians of color. This conference happens every 4 years and it was my first time attending as a librarian!

Calling the Black Queer Folks! Here is a lil save the date if you will, to kick off the comeback of the Black Queer Silent Read series. We’re so excited as we’ve been behind the scenes working to lock this in for us, for the community, and now here we are. So please mark your calendars and show out as we come together to read for a whole hour.

Are you in a book club? Bet come on down and get through some of those chapters.

Have you been meaning to open that book this Summer but haven’t? Here is your sign!

The cost is donation based, so it can be as low as $1!

More to come, but in the meantime, the rsvp link is in the bio! DM if you have any questions.

American Library Association is the annual national conference for library workers! It’s a great time to meet folks from around the world and share ideas with one another. I was fortunate to attend for the first time in 2024 as an ALA Spectrum Scholar, and then for the 2nd time in 2025 as an ALA Emerging Leader. I had so much fun making new library friends, and grew in my appreciation for the craft. Can’t wait to see the highlights from my peers going this year and looking forward to attending in 2027. In the meantime, who’s coming to my hometown for the Joint Council of Librarians of Color conference ??? 👀 @americanlibraryassociation @jclc2026
