Big shout out to the whole cast and crew of Mis Escritos! What a fun and fulfilling experience getting to share the stage with y’all. & just like that it’s over. It was a blast getting to work with such good friends @moon_chola and @alpharaoh y’all are truly doing amazing things and I’m blessed to be able to have been a part of it. Shout out @cholavision & @nofrontsactors Before doing this show and the Homeboy musical I had been away from theatre for over 4 years and it felt good to be back on stage. Now I go back to focusing on my films but I do see more shows in my future. 🙌🏽 taken in Thymele Arts by @_angel323_

Kalli family--we know living here in the City of Angels is a struggle, a hustle, a grind.

However, L.A. today is fighting unprecedented oppression and occupation from local and federal colonizers and culture erasers.

When we were filming 'Kalli Nepantla,' we knew it could serve as a way for individuals and families to see themselves represented with nuance, dignity, and respect for very real mental health realities.

Today, let this announcement of acceptance to the Chicano Hollywood Film Festival serve as a sign that our stories matter, and as a call to action for families and communities everywhere to invest in their local artists--help them make the art that elevates us all. Art and education are the weapons of freedom and resistance, let's sharpen them together!

That's what our community did, and that's why we're humbled and grateful to celebrate this win with you all 🌱

More to come,
PCG & the Kalli Nepantla team 🤎 taken in Los Angeles, California by @_angel323_

🎉 Kalli Nepantla community! 🎉

Another collective victory, both for our team and for those whose stories are often left untold or misrepresented in the media.

We're proud to announce our official selection to the Justice For My People Film Festival!

"Kalli Nepantla (The House of In-Between)" will be screening at no cost for this event; we want to reach as many of you in the community who haven't had a chance to watch our film! 🪶

Saturday, April 26th at the Japanese American National Museum
100 N. Central Ave. LA, CA 90012

Come celebrate and support the future (and present) of BIPOC-led filmmaking! 🌱🤎
