Your presence and support means all the difference! Let’s connect! Check out some art & enjoy the show. 📍 Main Theater – Santa Clarita, CA 🗓️ July 24 @ 7 PM 🗓️ July 25 @ 2 PM & 7 PM 🗓️ July 26 @ 2 PM Grab your tickets, bring your people, and help us celebrate new Chicano/Latino theater! 🎉 🎟️ Tickets in bio (or at the link on the flyer). #MisEscritos #ABarrioTheatreFestival #CrezcaTeatro #WorldPremiere #chicanotheater Image text: Mis Escritos is a play which depicts the struggles Black and Brown communities face under oppression of the United States, specifically ICE, Police and the Prison Industrial Complex. We follow the stories of two familias in South Central Los Angeles who are dealing with widespread state-sanctioned violence and oppression, experiencing firsthand how the youth of these families are using their voice and their art to fight back and resist. As a Chicano playwright that has long seen the injustices being committed against our communidades, I wrote Mis Escritos as a reminder that we have a voice, body and an imagination that can be used to fight back. This story doesn’t ask you to rise above injustice or turn the other cheek. It asks how much sufrimiento we are willing to take before we rise up, and to be honest mi gente, we have taken far too much to not have already. Mis Escritos is a reminder. An alarm. A wake-up call. It speaks to the present day for so many of us, in ways that we wish it wouldn’t. So, join us for a week of necessary theatre that you won’t soon forget. Con Cariño, Ángel Miguel López Playwright

Endless thanks to my cast and crew — your talent and support made my first short film, Press Play, possible. This is just the beginning.
