The Dream Keeper is the story of a child who is frightened of the dark, and a determined turtle who embarks on a journey to reach her, bringing a dream...

“...a reassuring tale of courage, hope and finding light, even in the darkest moments.”

I’m looking forward to sharing more soon 💚

“A cabbage moth and a cricket meet for the first time in the quiet space between twilight and dawn. As the unlikely pair discover each other’s worlds, friendship blooms in unexpected places.”

Words cannot express my gratitude to Miriam Rosenbloom and @scribblekidsbooks for believing in the space Between 💙 Making this book was such a joy ✨

ps. And excited about the window display which will be up for the launch! I’m making a twilight garden!🌛

The joyful and mad challenge of spray painting a hoarding board, beautifully built by @tcongroup 🙏 Constructed and painted three times to make space for me while ensuring Council requirements of not encroaching on the footpath by centimetres were met!

Wind played havoc 💨 and the scale was daunting 😬😅... but now and then a spatter of spray landed in a way that made me very happy!

Thank you everyone for indulging this whim! ☺️

A peep behind the scenes making Eddie & Moo. 💛

@janiegodwin and I are celebrating our 10th picture book collaboration 🎊🍃 💛

To create the illustrations I used the techniqe of monoprinting, leaning into the surprise of the process. 🐛 The playful nature of the textures reflected the personality of the characters ☺️

I was so delighted that ‘The Dream Keeper’ was chosen to help celebrate new books released in The Kids’ Reading Guide Winter 2026 edition 🎊

When I opened the package and found a bookmark too, it was like finding a tiny sunbeam! 🥰 Thank you @loveyourbookshopau 🙏

Yesterday I had the privilege of spending time with librarians, booksellers, authors and academics talking about ‘Children reading for pleasure’ and ways of supporting this. There are obviously challenges...but there were many positives revealed in the work being done in finding ways for every child to have access to stories. More on all of this to come! But in the meantime when I arrived home last night and opened the package revealing The Kids Reading Guide, it reminded me that this list has been created with care to help find a story that brings pleasure! I wish for every child to have the joy of escaping into the world of imagination where their dreams can take flight.

“Inside the guide you’ll find stories full of laughter, wonder, mystery and discovery. Some are heartwarming, others hilarious, but all remind us of the magic of getting lost and found between the pages of a book. Every title in the guide has been carefully chosen by passionate booksellers who love helping young readers find books that spark imagination, comfort, curiosity and courage.” - @kidsreadingguide
