As we pass the spring equinox, and enter the final quarter of 2026, I invite you to join me on Wednesday evening of the 7th of October to breathe in acknowledgement of this moment.

Held within Hall of Ceremonies, an exhibition of which I am a part, Peggy has permitted me the pleasure of guiding us through an hour of yoga, open to all levels.

I have been teaching yoga for over 5 years now, and cannot wait to share this fundamental practice with you alongside my sculptural work. These two practices are enmeshed within me so I feel a deep sense of gratitude to Peggy for opening her space to this diverse programming.

As my sculpture Magdalene holds and is held by the gallery, so too will I hold you through this vinyasa flow, closing our practice with a sound bath of Tibetan singing bowls.

Koha Entry (suggested amount $10-15)
5.30pm, class starts 6pm.
Capacity is limited so please come early to reserve your spot, have a cup of tea, settle in and unroll your mat.

// Magdalene // 9ct yellow gold and bronze. 990.6g. Dimensions variable.

Beneath your feet lies a ground. It is cast from grey material, punctuated by thousands of tiny stones. Over time some of these stones have been released, creating potholes in the surface. / Magdalene / her 990.6g of cast 9ct yellow gold and bronze fills some of these marks, restoring the ground to a smooth[ish] one.

I see the contemporary art gallery as a modern site of ritual. No longer do we only gather at a site of religious worship in order to connect with community. Peggy’s gallery offers us this site where the renovated surrounds of an old bed factory now hold space for artistic contemplation.

When Peggy invited me to join this exhibition I sat with the title, pondering its implications as they relate to my practice, and felt this act of repair to be an appropriate offering. Seldom do we think about the surface that we walk on, but how our feet stand on ground informs the rest of our posture, so you could say it is fundamental to our comportment [how we move through the world - ergo, how we meet in community with others]. How do we turn up for community?

Time in this basin. To feel its rhythm. To listen to its pulse.. running, walking, wandering about, lying, sitting, gazing.. day dreaming.. what a time 💛💛 filled with energy and potential making ideas; can’t wait to get back into the workshop and start testing things.. I’ll be back in Winter when the ground is blanketed in snow, can’t wait! This place is a place to be shared, if anyone wants to come and visit me next time? taken in Poison Creek Sculpture Project by @_anthe___
