For the longest time I didn’t know how to honor and be the light that I am, while navigating the darkness that plagued my mind and this world. And then I met you…

My Spisces sister, my soul sister, my forever baby girl, my confidant and friend, you are one of the most divine things that ever came into my life. You saw and loved me in my entirety. You’re the one person I never gave disclaimers about my bipolar brain because I knew you’d take me as I am on whatever day, and vice versa (we got each other that way 🫶🏾)

I’m grateful for all the memories, the conversations, the fun, the laughter, the books, the music, the singing, the nights out, the intentional dates, our growth over the years, the escapades with you and Zoe in the past year… you gave me a lifetime of love in such a short period of time.

The love and togetherness that you have left us with down here is a testament of your impact. All the great black women we discussed and that I know you looked up to, you were just like them… it was just a matter of time for the whole world to experience that.

I feel your presence in so many ways but there are also days that your absence shakes me. And I will continue to honor both feelings because that is something we talked about often, standing in our truths.

I Eat What I Like is a short sex dramedy that centers 19yr old Sasha, curious and excited to experience life beyond the four walls of her family home And her mother Hellen, uneasy about her recent separation and determined to maintain the 'perfect' image as she sends her daughter off to university. Everything seems to be going well until their church fellowship, Hellen's young boyfriend, a vibrator and a sex therapist's card enter the picture...

The community that I’ve built on here has been a big part of me stepping into my artistry, believing in my voice even when it shakes, and finding the strength to show imposter syndrome the middle finger! So in many ways you’ve already been a part of this journey, we’re just making things public now lol, and I hope you can trust me to carry this through. No amount is too big or too small a donation, and every like, share, save, dm counts just as much.
