Reconstruct it from memory and play pretend.
Except aren’t you tired of pretending.”

AUMEX (Amplify Uganda Music Expo) is well known for setting new precedents in Uganda’s music industry. It launched in 2024 with the nation’s first full scale music expo and conference and a first of its kind 12-week music industry incubator for artists and managers.

Most recently, the organization has released Uganda’s first comprehensive music report called “The Atlas.” The 40 page study provides ‘a data-driven map of the current creator economy, shifting consumer behaviours, and the digital trends defining the future of Ugandan music.’

The report, which is free and available for download at aumexexpo.com, sets out to foster an informed music landscape in an industry where creative potential is abundant but characterized by guesswork. Now that stakeholders are able to better understand where the market stands, they can more efficiently and sustainably maximize on its potential.

Some statistics that standout include “27% of Ugandan artists earn 0 UGX” annually from their music and that as of 2025, streaming penetration in the nations sits at 11 as compared to 5 - 10% regionally.

Head to AUMEX’s website to get into the full report. ✨
