To my big brother Max,

i cannot believe its been 9 years since you were taken from us. i cant help but think about the time weve lost being together and especially the time you lost to simply experience your life. you were 18 and only about a month into your freshman year of college when we lost you. it is particularly hard beginning my senior year of college today and finishing a chapter of my life that you didnt even get the chance to try and begin. one of the hardest parts of losing you is knowing how much life was still ahead of you that was taken so fast. i remember sending you off to school and just how excited you were to begin that next chapter of your life and how excited we all were for you. you deserved the chance to grow up, make mistakes, make memories, find yourself, build a career, have a family, etc. i wish i could know the person you would be today and experience your journey with you. but even though i didnt get that im so grateful for the time we did have. you were the best big brother a girl could ask for. you protected me, loved me, made me laugh, made me cry, and you taught me so much in the 13 years i got to have with you. you were the other half of my oldest vs youngest sibling dynamic and honestly id do anything for you to push my buttons again. although i wish we couldve continued to grow up together, i know you are still with me and watching over me and i sure hope im making you proud. i miss you in ways i cant even describe. i miss you being here, and i grieve the man i couldve and shouldve known today.

i will never stop striving to bring good to this world and spreading the love and laughter you brought into it. i will continue to carry you with me for the rest of my life. i love you forever Max ❤️

I lost my brother, Max, to a hazing incident in Sept. 2017. He didn’t deserve it, no one does. If you or anyone is ever in need of help/assistance, don’t hesitate or be afraid to speak up and seek help. Any voice can be that change.
