A Basque-inspired wine bar, freezer martinis, incredible seafood, wines from around £5 a glass AND a family story that’ll make you love it even more?

Safe to say @_bar_dani has completely won me over.

One of my favourite things about discovering new restaurants is learning about the people behind them. The years of dreaming, the family memories and the little pieces of themselves they pour into creating somewhere special.

And Bar Dani is such a beautiful example of that. ❤️

Of course, the food has to deliver too, and OH MY GOD, it did.

We worked our way through a frankly ridiculous amount of the menu, but here’s what I’d be ordering again:

🫒 Gildas, because obviously.
🦪 Clams with txistorra.
🫘 Smoked white beans, charred greens and Idiazabal cheese. The unexpected star of the evening. PLEASE don’t overlook these.
🥩 Lamb belly skewers with guindilla peppers.
🐟 Whole grilled seabream with romesco.
🍰 Basque cheesecake. Non-negotiable.

And the atmosphere? Exactly the sort of buzzy, slightly chaotic wine bar energy I absolutely love.

Whether you’re popping in for a glass of wine and a few plates or settling in for the whole evening, this is somewhere I’d happily recommend.

Newly opened Bar Dani, was top of my visit list on our recent trip to Glasgow

Serving wine by the glass, cocktails & small plates

We were lucky enough to grab a table at the counter and watch all of the amazing dishes come together on the grill

We had:
- gordal olives
- gilda
- sobrasada toast, guindilla pepper & hot honey
- gaintza txakoli rosé wine
- orange wine

I must go back for a freezer martini & the bavette steak 🍸

Glasgow food just upped its game! 🤤

Last week I took my bestie Priya to @_bar_dani in Finnieston — already one of my favourite parts of Glasgow (and home to Kelvingrove Café, which is genuinely one of my favourite spots EVER of life)!!!

Alec, Kirsty & Barry, the wonderful people behind Kelvingrove Café, have opened Bar Dani as their latest venture… and it did NOT disappoint.

Basque-inspired Spanish pintxos, delicious small plates, really affordable and absolutely PACKED with flavour. 🤌🏾

We ate
:
TOMATO SALAD
CLAMS & TXISTORRA
LAMB BELLY SKEWERS
CRAB & PIQUILLO PEPPER PINTXO
BIFANA
BASQUE CHEESECAKE

And can we talk about the martinis with the Gilda?! 🍸🫒
Oh. My. GOODNESS. Something ELSE!

The food was seriously delicious, the flavours were banging, the vibe was spot on and I already know I’ll be back.

If you’re in Glasgow, I strongly advise you to pay Bar Dani a visit. Tell them I sent you… and ENJOY! ❤️

Butterflied sea bream, pil pil sauce, which is made by making a collagen rich stock from the heads and bones from butterflying the fish, emulsified with a garlic, extra virgin olive oil and a touch of chilli
