I fear Glasgow’s restaurant scene is getting a little TOO good. 🍷

PR Invite

📌 SAVE this new Finnieston opening for your next Glasgow food and wine adventure.

A Basque-inspired wine bar, freezer martinis, incredible seafood, wines from around £5 a glass AND a family story that’ll make you love it even more?

Safe to say @_bar_dani has completely won me over.

One of my favourite things about discovering new restaurants is learning about the people behind them. The years of dreaming, the family memories and the little pieces of themselves they pour into creating somewhere special.

And Bar Dani is such a beautiful example of that. ❤️

Of course, the food has to deliver too, and OH MY GOD, it did.

We worked our way through a frankly ridiculous amount of the menu, but here’s what I’d be ordering again:

🫒 Gildas, because obviously.
🦪 Clams with txistorra.
🫘 Smoked white beans, charred greens and Idiazabal cheese. The unexpected star of the evening. PLEASE don’t overlook these.
🥩 Lamb belly skewers with guindilla peppers.
🐟 Whole grilled seabream with romesco.
🍰 Basque cheesecake. Non-negotiable.

And the atmosphere? Exactly the sort of buzzy, slightly chaotic wine bar energy I absolutely love.

Whether you’re popping in for a glass of wine and a few plates or settling in for the whole evening, this is somewhere I’d happily recommend.

📍 Bar Dani, Argyle Street, Finnieston, Glasgow

Now tell me, are you ordering the whole menu or showing some restraint? Because clearly I have none. 👀

If you’re planning a Glasgow weekend, I’ve basically done all the research for you. 🍷

📌 SAVE this 48-hour Glasgow itinerary for your next city break because every coffee, cocktail, meal and wander is already mapped out.

*Contains some PR

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited Glasgow now, but one thing is guaranteed: I’m going to spend most of the trip eating and drinking my way around the city.

So I’ve pulled together the kind of Glasgow itinerary I’d genuinely send to a friend, mixing some of my long-time favourites with brilliant new openings, coffee shops, wine bars, restaurants and a little bit of culture in between.

We based ourselves at The Wellington Glasgow by Adina, a gorgeous city-centre apartment that made the perfect base for exploring, before working our way through Merchant City, Finnieston, the West End and Southside.

There’s a £25 set lunch I recommend to almost everyone, one of Glasgow’s hottest new Basque-style openings, a Southside wine and cocktail crawl, £5 Negronis, seriously good coffee, plenty of small plates and some of my favourite places to wander when I’m not thinking about my next meal.

Basically, 48 hours in Glasgow for people who plan their city breaks around food and wine.

Send this to the person you’d take with you, and tell me: are you starting with the £25 lunch, the wine crawl or the £5 Negronis?

💌 chilled wine & tapas at @_bar_dani

Newly opened Bar Dani, was top of my visit list on our recent trip to Glasgow

Serving wine by the glass, cocktails & small plates

We were lucky enough to grab a table at the counter and watch all of the amazing dishes come together on the grill

We had:
- gordal olives
- gilda
- sobrasada toast, guindilla pepper & hot honey
- gaintza txakoli rosé wine
- orange wine

I must go back for a freezer martini & the bavette steak 🍸

Let me know if you go ✨
