I pulled two works from the rack yesterday and it was very nice just having them out in the space. I made them from 2023 / 2025. They still feel fresh in a lot of ways but also I’ve since moved on to other things. Advice to any artists pals here who are showing with commercial galleries > save at least one piece from every body of work you produce. One of my biggest studio regrets is letting everything go the first few years. I wish I kept at least a few to look back at. ❤️ by @_bbww_

This work is coming up to auction at Phillips NYC @phillipsauction in a few days (link in bio). It was in a solo show at Mitchell Innes and Nash @miandn in 2017. I’ve included two images of the show (slides 2 and 3) it was in their uptown space and I remember thinking during install just how perfect the size and shape of the room was for me. It could hold 6 medium sized works and give you enough space to see everything together but just enough for them to exist on their own. I’ve probably said this before but Ive always liked auction catalogs. Do they still make them for every auction? It’s 180 x 180 cm > give or take a few millimetres 😂 by @_bbww_

Thank you @felt.collections ❤️ went digging deep into the archives to find the info > No.1 (Dominion) made in 2014, 269 x 210 x 4 cm. It was in a solo exhibition in berlin that same year called Pit Pony. All the works were titled after the names of mines in the town where I grew up. It always feels like magic when the color alignments match up nicely. >>> RG via >>> @felt.collections This is the weaving of @_bbww_ . Brent lists folk, modernism, Gee’s bend quilt makers and Abstract Expressionism amongst his list of inspirations, we would add Brent Wadden to ours. We love the exposed and celebrated glitches of a traditional craft. And we’re fascinated with the point where textiles intersect with modernism. Abstract expressionism is a behemoth of 20th century art history, and the colour field artists in particular have very recognisable connections to a variety of historical textiles which is not often discussed. A rich seam for exploration … by @_bbww_

It’s been a while since my last post! Been thinking about the few days I spent in Ibiza earlier this year, installing a huge work I made for a very special house.
