When this year began, I felt God give me a simple phrase: “songs of sacrifice.” At the time, I thought I understood what it meant… but over the last few months, it has taken on a whole new depth.
Because this year, worship hasn’t been easy.
There’s a side of leading worship that most people never see.
From the seats, the platform looks bright, the moments feel holy, and from the outside it can seem effortless. But behind the microphone, there are moments when the weight is so real you can feel it pressing against your chest. I stand in the same spot week after week, and lately it has become the very ground I wage war on… Most weeks, stepping onto the platform feels like stepping into a battle I don’t feel strong enough to fight, and more often than I’d like to admit, the thought of slipping quietly out the back door crosses my mind.

This season has felt heavy. And honestly? Worship…the thing that has always been my safe place, has started to feel like the very thing I wanted to run away from.
And yet… this is where songs of sacrifice become real.
Not in the easy moments, but in the costly ones.
Sometimes it’s choosing to sing when everything in you wants to stay silent.
Sometimes it’s handing God your trembling voice and saying, “Use me anyway.”

So I turned to pen and paper…and pen and paper turned into a song: “If All I Can Sing Is Hallelujah.”
Because even my weakest hallelujah carries heaven’s authority.
So on a Tuesday afternoon, I sat on that platform, staring at the spot where I stand each week, reminded that the Lion of Judah stands above me.
A reminder to myself… and maybe to you…that God is still in control of every battle, every storm, every diagnosis, every unknown.

Across the UK there’s been a whisper… a quiet revival beginning to stir. Not necessarily mass gatherings, but in small rooms where hearts are hungry, in churches where worship rises again, in lives being quietly transformed.

Song of Solomon 2:12 says: “The flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come…” That’s the heartbeat behind this spoken word. It’s a reflection on what happens when God interrupts the silence with His song. When winter breaks. When the church dares to lift its voice again…. raw, unashamed, and undignified before the King.

Revival isn’t always loud at first. It often begins as embers…. a few voices, a few tears, a few lives surrendered. But embers spread. They catch. And soon the fire grows. 🔥

Over the summer I have run 6 giveaway day
events as part of my initiative Operation Back to School, where we provide free school uniforms to families in the community. The vision has always been simple: I want to help as many families as possible with free uniform, taking away even just a little of the stress that comes with getting children ready for school.
We had over 100 families come through the doors this year, which was amazing to see.

Another milestone was being approved for our very first grant, thanks to the support of our local Rotary Club. Until now we’ve never asked for or received financial donations, so this is a huge blessing that helps us source items we often find ourselves short of.

While I sometimes catch myself stressing… will we have enough? will there be the right sizes?….God always shows up in the most intentional ways. It’s not run as a Christian/Church event, but to me it’s a chance to serve in the way Jesus calls us to. The way He provides is incredible, not just “enough,” but abundance. Time and again I’ve seen the exact thing a family needs appear, almost like it was set aside just for them.
And honestly, this is my favourite part. Chatting to families, seeing faces light up when they find something that fits just right, and watching parents relax knowing one thing is taken care of. It’s a lot of work, sure 😂 but it fills me with so much joy. I’m just really grateful I get to do this. 💛 by @_chloehale

This video has been sitting unfinished for a year 🤪 I finally finished and knew I had to share it. Operation: Back to School has been running for the last three years, making sure children have the school uniforms they need, at no cost to their families. Because every child deserves to start the school year with confidence.

My heart behind this video is to show just how much of a difference something as simple as a school uniform can make. The generosity of big companies donating and the power of communities coming together to meet a need. With the cost of living crisis affecting so many, initiatives like this matter now more than ever.

We can all play a part in making sure no one is left behind. Watch, share, and let’s keep showing up for those who need it most and maybe you can even get involved in something similar near you!
