COME ON JESUS ❤️‍🔥🥹

This past Friday, over 500 women from across our city gathered in one room to lift up the name of Jesus, and we’re still in awe of all that He did. His presence was so palpable, and we believe what happened in that room marked our hearts in a way we’ll carry with us for a lifetime. And somehow, it feels like He’s only getting started.

Covered Girls, we love you, and we are with you heart and soul. Our prayer is to see this city filled with women abiding in the promises of Jesus - fully alive, confident in their calling, and carrying the Gospel everywhere they go.

Nothing is wasted. Not one moment, not one story, not one thing surrendered at the feet of Jesus. ❤️‍🔥

I’ve been keeping a secret 🥹

Six years ago, on September 18, 2020, my life changed in a way I never would have chosen. If I could go back to the morning after and sit beside 20-year-old Logan in the aftermath, I think I would hold her hand and tell her:

This will not get the final say.

I would tell her there will be grief she doesn’t know how to name, shame she was never meant to carry, and questions she is afraid to ask. But Jesus is going to meet her there.

And then I would tell her something I’m not sure she would believe yet: One day, you are going to spend your life fighting for women to know they are not disposable. You’re going to create spaces where women can encounter Jesus and know they are seen, valued, and loved.

And one day, you’re going to call it Covered.

I didn’t understand when Covered began just how deeply its heartbeat had been formed in the places where Jesus met me. Somewhere along the way, Genesis 50:20 became more than a verse I knew: “What you intended for evil, God intended for good.”

God did not call what happened to me good. But He has refused to waste it.

And now September 18 is coming again. Exactly six years later, I will stand at Covered Nights and preach the Gospel on the very date that once held some of the deepest pain of my life. What happened didn’t disappear. But September 18 no longer gets to tell only one story.

The message I’ll preach that night just so happens to be the title of the book I’ve been writing 🥹

Nothing Is Wasted.

A book about the stones we carry, the altars we build, and the God who wastes none of it.

My prayer is that these pages remind you that the grief wasn’t wasted. The waiting wasn’t wasted. The questions weren’t wasted. Not even the stones that once covered our tombs are wasted.

And if you’re near Charlotte on September 18, I would love for you to be in the room at Covered Nights. Come carrying whatever stone you’ve been holding. We’ll bring them to Jesus together.

Because what happened doesn’t get the final say.

I don’t know if I’ll ever have enough words to express just how much I love Dove’s Nest and the incredible staff who pour so much of their hearts into this place. What a tender privilege it is to witness the beautiful work Jesus is doing in the lives of these women.

Yesterday was another reminder that Jesus is still making all things new. What a gift it is to witness lives surrendered, hope restored, and women publicly declaring that they belong to Him. There is truly nothing like watching someone step into the waters of baptism and come up celebrating new life in Christ.

So deeply grateful for Charlotte Rescue Mission and the sacred work they do every single day. And especially grateful for our amazing Covered team. Thank you for the way you continually show up and serve others with so much love and joy. You truly are the most special group of people, and I couldn’t be more grateful to get to do this alongside you. 🫶

If you ask me where one of my favorite places to teach or simply be is, I would immediately tell you Dove’s Nest.

I may walk through those doors prepared to teach, but every single time, I leave having been taught far more than I ever imagined. There is a courage, a strength, a vulnerability, and such a tender faith within those walls that has marked me in ways I don’t think I’ll ever fully have words for.

This Friday, we get to go back and stand beside more women as they go public with their faith through baptism, and my heart is just deeply grateful. Grateful to be there. Grateful to know them. Grateful that God would allow me and the team to witness even a small piece of what He is doing in their lives.

Holy Spirit, you are welcome here 🤍

We want to be people of light. People who linger. People who long to behold the presence of God and hunger for more of Him.

Because we know when He’s in the room, things happen. Chains break. Healing flows. Hearts are restored.

May we never become so familiar with His presence that we stop being in awe of it.
