10K ✅

There was a time when running a single mile felt impossible.

Today, I ran 10K without stopping.

This wasn’t built in one run. It was built on the mornings I didn’t feel like getting up, the days I wanted to quit, and every decision to keep going anyway.

Running has given me more than endurance. It gave me confidence, discipline, and proof that consistency can change your life.

Here’s to becoming the person I once thought I’d never be.

On to the next challenge by @_dadruns_

I still can’t believe I’m saying this…

Three months ago, I hated running.

I would’ve done anything to avoid it.

Today, I ran my first sub-30 5K.

Somewhere along the way, running stopped feeling like punishment and became something I actually look forward to.

I used to think I wasn’t a runner.

Now I’m wondering how fast I can become.

This is only Chapter 1.

…and whatever comes after that.

Let’s get to work. 👊

I almost forgot my reason to run.

Then I looked at this picture.

The man in the middle was 70 pounds heavier.

I drank more than I should.
I wasn’t disciplined.
I wasn’t consistent.
I kept telling myself, “I’ll start Monday.”

When my daughter was born, I did start working out.

But if I’m being honest… I wasn’t committed.

I’d train for a while, then stop.
I’d eat well for a few days, then fall back into old habits.
I’d make progress, then lose it because I lacked consistency.

I wasn’t just fighting the weight.
I was fighting the person I’d become.

Then one day I realized my daughter deserved more.

She deserved a father who would be there for every milestone.
A father who led by example.
A father who kept the promises he made to himself.

So I stopped chasing quick results and started building discipline.

I quit drinking.
I changed the way I ate.
I fell in love with running.
And I kept showing up, even when I didn’t feel like it.

-70 POUNDS later, I can honestly say this journey was never just about losing weight.

It was about becoming the husband, father, and man I knew I was capable of being.

Every run reminds me that consistency will always beat motivation.

And every finish line reminds me why I started

First run after 3 weeks of therapy, this one really humbled me, after recovering from IT Band, a knee injury….

Plantar fasciitis is no joke, got humbled really quick, thanks to @bonillaseth daily therapy has been hard, painful, stressful but got me back to doing what I love and enjoy.

@drcourtneyconley content has opened my eyes in taking care of my feet, 🦶, shoe rotation is about to change, training is about to change. No big brands really care about our toes, if you know you know. by @_dadruns_
