Dads in the Wild is a community where fathers and their children connect through nature, conversation, and shared experiences.

We gather to hike, share coffee, build friendships, and create memories that last longer than any screen ever could.

You don't need to be an outdoor expert.
You don't need the perfect parenting strategy.
You don't need to have it all figured out.

Just show up.

Dads in the Wild began with a question:

How can I teach my son life's lessons without the adversity I grew up with?

Many of the lessons that shaped me came through difficult experiences, mistakes, hardship, and challenges I had to learn my way through.

While those experiences taught resilience, responsibility, and perseverance, they also made me wonder:

Is there another way?

Can we teach courage through adventure?
Can we teach resilience through challenge?
Can we teach confidence through exploration?
Can we teach connection through presence?

I believe we can.

Dads in the Wild exists to create opportunities for fathers and children to learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships through shared experiences in nature.

Every trail becomes a classroom.
Every conversation becomes a lesson.
Every adventure becomes a memory.

This community was built on the belief that some of life's most important lessons don't have to come from adversity alone.

Sometimes they can come from a hike, a waterfall, a cup of coffee, and a father who simply chooses to show up. by @_dadsinthewild

Dads in the Wild is built on a belief:

Love is not weakness.
Presence is not passivity.
Community is not an accident.

These are the commitments we make to ourselves, our children, and one another.

🌮🍻❤️ That's a wrap on year three! ❤️🍻🌮

A huge thank you to everyone (Mexicano, Maje, Tico, Parce, Chapin) who came out for our 3rd Annual Tacos x Beer (Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month Hike) to Taco Peak!

Outdoor Adventures+ and the Bearded Bastards Hiking Crew are grateful for every person who showed up, hit the trail, shared some laughs, broke bread, raised a beer and helped make this day what it was. This hike is more than just reaching the peak. It’s about community. It’s about creating space for our gente in the outdoors, celebrating our cultura, and each other showing that we belong out here. Three years in, and the energy keeps getting better. From the first step on the trail to the tacos at the finish line, you are what makes this tradition special. Thank you for hiking with us, celebrating with us, and continuing to show up for one another.

This months @_dadsinthewild meet was different. Original location was in Monrovia but the road was blocked off, it got switch to this beautiful hike in San Dimas instead. It was a great meet up, definitely more intimate than the last but nonetheless interactive as always. I’m glad I found a community on IG that brings dads together that show up for their children and care deeply, trying to break those generational chains ⛓️‍💥. This months hike felt very peaceful to me and showed me what being in tune to nature and my children truly means, thanks to all the dads that showed up and thanks to @chicanocoffeeclub for the great coffee as always! #foryoupage #dadlife #hiking #mentalhealth #dads taken in San Dimas, California by @_dadsinthewild
