The outdoors has always been more than a place to explore. It is a place of history, culture, community, and connection.

On Indigenous Peoples Day, we honor the First Peoples of this land, whose relationships with these mountains, forests, deserts, coastlines and waterways have endured since time immemorial. At Outdoor Adventures+, we believe everyone deserves to feel a sense of belonging in the outdoors. But creating inclusive spaces also means acknowledging the history of the lands we explore, respecting Indigenous sovereignty and recognizing the communities who continue to protect and steward these places today. As we work toward greater representation and accessibility in outdoor spaces, may we also remain committed to listening to Indigenous voices, learning from Indigenous-led initiatives and standing in solidarity with Native communities.

Because our connection to the outdoors should never be separated from our respect for the people and histories rooted in it. Honor the land. Respect its people. Protect its future.

A huge thank you to everyone (Mexicano, Maje, Tico, Parce, Chapin) who came out for our 3rd Annual Tacos x Beer (Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month Hike) to Taco Peak!

Outdoor Adventures+ and the Bearded Bastards Hiking Crew are grateful for every person who showed up, hit the trail, shared some laughs, broke bread, raised a beer and helped make this day what it was. This hike is more than just reaching the peak. It’s about community. It’s about creating space for our gente in the outdoors, celebrating our cultura, and each other showing that we belong out here. Three years in, and the energy keeps getting better. From the first step on the trail to the tacos at the finish line, you are what makes this tradition special. Thank you for hiking with us, celebrating with us, and continuing to show up for one another.

Until next year…keep getting outside, keep taking up space, and keep bringing cultura to the trails. ¡Nos vemos en las montañas!

The wives had a bridal expo to attend, and I got of the kids for the afternoon. Two biological, two adopted by association.😂

Took the crew out for a little hike while the moms handled business.

Fresh air, dirt, and a little complaining… Dad daycare was officially open

This months @_dadsinthewild meet was different. Original location was in Monrovia but the road was blocked off, it got switch to this beautiful hike in San Dimas instead. It was a great meet up, definitely more intimate than the last but nonetheless interactive as always. I’m glad I found a community on IG that brings dads together that show up for their children and care deeply, trying to break those generational chains ⛓️‍💥. This months hike felt very peaceful to me and showed me what being in tune to nature and my children truly means, thanks to all the dads that showed up and thanks to @chicanocoffeeclub for the great coffee as always! #foryoupage #dadlife #hiking #mentalhealth #dads

Join us for a morning hike as we step away from the noise, breathe fresh air, and remind ourselves that healing doesn’t always happen indoors. Sometimes it starts on the trail, one conversation and one step at a time.

Came for the free iced coffee and met great men/ fathers going through their own journey. We may be going through different stages in life, but I know that our dads would have appreciated a small community like this. I’m glad that through social media we can come together and learn from each other. I hope to continue to build with these men and learn from them, it was an awesome experience 😁. I just want to say thank you to Carlos from @themodernmacho for putting together such an awesome hike for dads and their kids. 🥾

It was really cool seeing men slow down for a few hours, get outside, connect, enjoy their time with their kids, and just be present. We need more of that.

We had the chance to support Carlos and what he’s building by bringing our Chicano Coffee cold brews, and honestly, it was an honor to be a small part of it. I love seeing people create spaces that encourage men in their growth and remind them they don’t have to do it alone.

If you missed this month’s hike, don’t worry, he’ll be hosting another one on July 11th.

Here are some pics from yesterday’s “Dads in the Wild” nature walk.

I was extremely proud of my daughter. She was the only girl there yesterday, but she handled the trail like a champ. There were lots of creek crossings, and she did amazing. She was trudging along the trail with them, carrying a hiking stick and throwing rocks into the creek.

I was proud to be among such great company, but even more proud of how well my daughter handled herself. Shout out to my wife ( @todotienesutemporada ) for raising a strong, intelligent, fearless daughter.

These monthly “Dads in the Wild” hikes have been great. Thank you to Carlos/The Modern Macho for organizing them for us. My daughter looks forward to them now and is already asking when the next one is gonna take place. Sharing the space with another good friend was awesome as well. Thank you to Joel (and Niko) for joining us. Also, thank you Attuned Dad for the tumbler! And shoutout to Chicano Coffee Club for the amazing horchata cold brew.
