When I stepped onto the mat on May 3rd for my first Muay Thai match, I chose who was stepping onto the mat.

Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

I chose courage over fear.
I chose trust over doubt.
I chose to embody the spirit of the tiger that has been guiding me throughout this season of my life.

What I am most proud of isn’t how I performed. It’s how I showed up.

I was in no rush to share this moment because I know now that the real work is only beginning. There is still so much to learn, refine, and discover. And truthfully, that excites me.

A huge thank you to my coach @shout_enterprise . Another soul who has divinely entered my life with purpose and intention. From start to finish, your calm and steady presence kept me grounded and connected. Thank you for reminding me of something I will carry with me long after this match:

“You are a fighter, Darrien.”

2025 has taught me that I can trust time.
Time is my friend. 🫂

Nothing in my life has happened overnight,
yet everything — and more — has arrived in due time.

As I enter the realm of another year, I recognize the shifts:

As I celebrate four years since opening the doors of my practice, I’m reminded that the heart is powerful enough to survive — and even thrive — in a capitalistic, money-first culture.

The very things I once feared about my style and approach to care are the same things many of you have stayed for… some of you since 2018. 🥹

I am deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me and for your faith in the process. As I continue to say, this isn’t just what I do — it’s who I am.

The worst thing we can do is hold ourselves hostage to a season and a version of ourselves that has already expired.

This year, I shed a skin I’d outgrown—and what I’ve released, I’m no longer searching for. 🐍
