Experiments from last exhibition “Laboratory of Disappearance” to unreveal mysteries of Göbeklitepe and Newali Çori 3d printer moves around shapes manipulated from layouts of both archaeological sites. Through this method I am seeking a communication between past and present. A dialog between the time humans started rituals and gatherings and the time we start losing feeling of togetherness.

“Kayboluş Laboratuvarı” adlı son sergimden, Göbeklitepe ve Newali Çori’nin gizemlerini çözmeye yönelik deneyler. 3 boyutlu yazıcı, her iki arkeolojik alanın yerleşim planlarından elde edilen şekilleri hareket ettiriyor.

-“Breaking Point II“ continues the exploration of breaking and rebuilding started in the first „Breaking Point.“ This interactive
artwork lets people experience fragile, sculptures, making them think about what‘s important in an art show. The piece focuses
on how people hesitate and choose when dealing with these delicate objects. It looks at how these personal choices can show
bigger problems in society and how we make decisions together. Importantly, „Breaking Point II“ watches how people interact
with the artwork without telling them what to do, showing how they naturally react to something delicate that could be made or
destroyed.“ taken in Künstlerhaus Metternich by @_dereke_

The installation “I follow” examines the transformative power of repetition in rituals and craft, by bridging the gap between human and machine interaction. Through ceramics, video, and sound, the work explores the duality of movement via two contrasting methodologies: the precision of 3D clay printing and the primal intensity of wood firing. Playing between water/fire, stable/dynamic, solitary/communal, uncontrolled/controlled, manual/automated.
In the foreword to Ritual: What It Is, How It Works, and Why (Davis-Floyd & Laughlin, 2022), Betty Sue Flowers (2022) notes that “...it is the repetition, not the content, of the ritual that creates its power” (p.xii-xiv ).
Whether through the mechanical layering of a print or through the 10-hour labor of feeding a kiln, these rhythmic actions translate individual effort into a cumulative, shared experience. I see this project as a living archive that documents a journey from the isolated studio to the communal fire, seeking to rediscover the “togetherness” often lost to the individualized routines.
Many thanks to @almila_kalmazz for your voice!
Tack @hannasundbom_ for the help!

A collective drawing, playing with past and present path ways in our daily life. Last semester in Spatial activism course o had so much fun and got to know better the city I live for some months. We had good trips around the City of Göteborg and talk about what is activism in different forms. This art work is result of my take on activism in my practice. Was a great pleasure to have this chance and encouragement from our tutors Markus and Natalie. Our works exhibited at @longest__night. Thank you for the opportunity and all the fun 😊 @natalienovik & @markusolofbergstrom taken in Longest Night by @_dereke_

‘Laboratory of Disappearance’ “Archaeology’s process of uncovering forgotten histories simultaneously holds up a mirror to our
own time; through the loss of the ancient communal practices, it reveals the gradual
disappearance of shared ritual and community from our modern world. This duality is at the heart
of the Laboratory of Disappearance. The exhibition is experimenting with and researching rituals
that are slowly disappearing by focusing on two archaeological sites: Newalı Çori (BC. 8100) and
Göbeklitepe (BC 9600). Both are located in southeastern Anatolia. Newalı Çori is known as the
oldest temple and has the oldest monumental sculptures. Göbeklitepe is a known prehistoric cult
center. Even though they were big communal centers on their time, we know so little about them;
they still keep their mystery. To understand their mystery and what happened at these sites, this
exhibition starts with the examine the layouts and pathways in the sites. This reveals new
communication with them. Traces of the remains show that the language belongs to these sites.
They were for hundreds of years, home to rituals and gatherings. To understand their mystery and
reason they were together will help us to gather in the optimistic future we’ll create. Convert to
daily routines, rather than communal, became more individualized. Art works are discover new
contact with those remains to translate now and hopefully into an optimistic future.” Göteborg 2025 taken in HDK-Valand by @_dereke_
