One week ago today, I graduated with Honors (Summa Cum Laude) at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Peck School of the Arts with a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre and a Minor in Dance: Performance. I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience that UWM has brought me in these past four years including forever friendships, professional development , and a continued passion for what I love most: Musical Theatre.

While at UWM, I had the opportunity to be a part of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority Gamma Gamma Chapter (@gammaphibetauwm) as well as CHAARG UWM (@mke_inchaarg) where I had the opportunity to continue my passion for working out, improve my leadership skills, and most of all build lifelong connections.

Moving forward from graduation, I’m very excited to use all of the skills and tools I have learned at UWM to continue teaching theatre and music to younger generations, auditioning for shows in the area, and bringing all of my passions to life!

I truly couldn’t have achieved this amazing accomplishment without all the love of my friends and family who are always cheering me on no matter what!

Thank you @uwmilwaukee! I truly wouldn’t be the same person I am today without you!

Two weeks ago today, I was given the incredible opportunity to study with @openjarinstitute in New York City, New York. For one week, I was able to live the life of my dreams. Working with Broadway choreographers, renowned vocal teachers and extremely talented acting coaches truly opened my world to what it feels like to create theatre in a space with goal of being myself and creating art that feels true to me. In addition to dining at local restaurants and visiting Times Square, I also had the opportunity to partake in a mock audition process at the end of the week and perform in a showcase demonstrating everything we had learned.

Not only was it such an incredible learning experience but it also granted me with the opportunity of seeing my first ever Broadway show, @mincemeatbway and even more blessed to have seen two more shows: @stonbroadway & @maybehappyending that truly exceeded every expectation.

Open Jar really taught me that no matter where we all end up in life, no matter what we are limitless and going into my senior year at University Of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, I am so excited for this year full of even more opportunity and am so incredibly grateful for everything Open Jar Institute provided me with to keep spreading art forever and ever.

Thank you @openjarinstitute . I can never truly express how grateful I am for this experience and how it has truly shaped me into the artist I am today and will continue to be ❤️ taken in Open Jar Studios by @_emmaforbes_
