From Pitch to Screen 🎬

Ethan Finch’s SLEEP started as a concept pitched at Set In Motion, and now it’s about to begin its festival run.

From the initial pitch and read-through to finding key crew members within the community, Set In Motion helped bring SLEEP from an idea on the page to a finished film.

4 HOURS. ONE DAY. TWO CITIES. ONE CREATIVE VISION. 🎬

What happens when your Melbourne executive team lands in Perth with just 4–5 hours to make it happen?

You collaborate. You communicate. You move.

With only a handful of Zoom calls and one location recce to prep, Director @_ethanfinch and 1st AD @jess.husband came to Perth with a tight production window, meaning both teams had to hit the ground running.

From pre-production through to the final frame, @thevision_productionhouse × @infinitumstudiosau worked as one crew, combining Melbourne’s creative direction with Perth’s local production knowledge, crew and resources.

Different cities. Different teams. One production. One standard.

and that’s a wrap on my 3rd and final project this year - Smells Like Lavender! I cannot believe I’ve had the chance to direct 3 incredible projects in the last 6 months - Zombie, SLEEP and Smells Like Lavender, it has honestly been a dream come true!

it was such a pleasure to be trusted with the opportunity to Co Direct and Produce this amazingly written and meaningful short film alongside @hannahfoldi @jess.husband & @mica_ep
