🩵“Symphony of Country; movement 1,2,3”🩵
These special works were commissioned by Metro trains, in collaboration with @littlerocket_au, and are installed all throughout Flagstaff train station!🌀🥹🩵

They have been up for about 2 months now, so if you’ve been travelling into the city on ptv, you might have seen these already! 🤭💗
The commissions aim was to bring nature into the station - specifically nature inspired by the current Flagfstaff Gardens. Unfortunately, majority of the current gardens is invasive/non native plant life, and has a complex colonial history - of removal, conquest and gentrification, and was a burial site for a time.

I wanted to recontextualise the gardens - still making sure I represented some of the history, and plants in its current form, but also gently pay homage to what it was before colonisation, and what it can be again - a site of natural and cultural significance with native animals and plants thriving; a symphony.

It has been amazing to work with @littlerocket_au and love the finished outcome!! Incredibly proud about this one 🥹💗⭐️ taken in Flagstaff railway station by @_ghostgum

A panel discussion with the 5 members of the Glaas Inc First Nations Steering Committee who are also artists and have work exhibited in the current ‘Visions in Glass’ exhibition at the Glaas Gallery 140 High St Prahran alongside other First Nations artists.

Very privileged to have this work of mine shown with @marsgallery at the @melbourneartfair back in March this year! It sat alongside artwork from amazing, incredible First Nations artists: @cassiesullivan_._ @georgiaboseley___art @jenna.mlee and @damienshen 😋🌀 Such a proud moment for me!

It’s has been one of the proudest moments of my little life to have these works on display, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to honour my family in the process 😊🌸

Better late than never!!
I had the privileged of having a work of mine in @ku.arts ‘Gathering’ the first ever, National Weaving Salon earlier this year! This show ran alongside the incredible @kurdinthi National weaving symposium, that I was lucky enough to attend with my mum ☺️✨

This work of mine is called ‘Unknown’ and it speaks to the bodies and belongings of our ancestors that sit within institutions. Their remains housed within metal draws, waiting to be a subject of colonial voyeurism. These remains belong on country and in the loving care of their people… but who are they and where do they belong?

It was such an immense privilege and I am honestly so grateful for the opportunity for my work to sit in an environment carefully, and lovingly curated by blak curators and makers! 🦢🌟
Thankyou to @ku.arts for having me and my piece, alongside so many other incredible weavers - some of which are in the following slides, and some that I have looked up to for years 🌟🦢 there were so many beautiful works, and I really wish I took more photos!

My work was a heavier topic, but I cried out of pure Blak joy as soon as I walked in, and can honestly say it was one of the proudest, most joyous moments of my life ❤️💛🖤

🌟🦢‘How I See You’ 🦢🌟
I am so excited to announce that I have my first ever solo exhibition opening next Tuesday!!! 🥹💗

I feel very privileged to have been chosen as a Deadly @melbfringe fund recipient, and even more so to have my work shown in the @koorieheritagetrust, alongside the extremely significant woven exhibitions now showing 🪶✨

I am so excited to say that I have a new woven work being shown in the @ku.arts National First Nations weaving salon! 🤭🦋💗

This is a new work that has never been shown before, and definitely a heavier subject than I have ever worked with, so I am feeling so honoured to have it shown in this exhibition!

This exhibition and the @kurdinthi weaving symposium next weekend in Tarntanya, are such amazing initiatives uplifting the significance of First Nations weaving 🧚🏽‍♀️🌷
If you are in Adelaide, or looking to for a weekend trip I highly recommend having a look at the weaving symposium program, and the multiple woven exhibitions happening!

I am so excited to be a part of @marsgallery NAIDOC Week show: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.

The exhibition will run between the 3 July – 2 August, with opening night is Friday 11 July, 5:30 – 7:30pm!! 🌟

This is my first commercial exhibition and it feels surreal to have work alongside other artists i love, and have been admiring for years!! 🥹🌷
Young Madi would be so proud 🦦😌

So come by to see some AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, DEADLY, BEAUTIFUL works! ☺️🥰
