This degree is more than a title it’s the answered prayers, sacrifices, and resilience of two Haitian parents who came to America believing their children would have opportunities they never did.

As a first-generation college graduate earning my Bachelor of Science from the one and only Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, I don’t take this moment for granted. Every setback reminded me that God was still writing my story.

Thank you, FAMU, for the lifelong friendships, sisterhood, and lessons that shaped the woman I’m becoming.

To my very organization at FAMU, Big Sister Little Sister Mentoring Program, Inc.,💜🧡
It’s hard to put into words what BSLS has meant to me because this organization became so much more than a part of my college experience, it became a part of me. It taught me how to lead with love, serve with purpose, mentor with intention, and embrace the true meaning of sisterhood.

To my A.S.C.E.N.D.A.N.T.S. ‘26 sisters, thank you for every challenge, every celebration, every laugh, and every lesson. We came together as different women, but we leave connected by a bond that will last far beyond FAMU. I love each and every one of you, and I’ll forever be grateful that our paths crossed.
To my Royal Court 2024–2025 👑, being your Royal Court Mom was one of the greatest honors of my BSLS journey. Thank you for allowing me to love, lead, and grow alongside each of you. Watching you flourish has been one of my greatest joys. I am beyond proud of the women you’ve become, and no matter where life takes you, know that I’ll always be rooting for you. I love you all endlessly.
To my Littles, thank you for allowing me to be your BIG. Every conversation, every laugh, and every memory will always hold a special place in my heart. No matter where life takes us, I’ll forever support you, root for you, and always be your BIG. I love you all endlessly.
And to my Big, Ma’Kayla, thank you for being so much more than my Big—you became my forever sister. Thank you for believing in me, pouring into me, and showing me what true sisterhood and compassionate leadership look like. There will never be enough words to express how grateful I am that BSLS gave me YOU. I love you forever, Ma’Kayla. 🤞🏾

As I close this chapter, I leave BSLS with so much more than memories. I leave with lifelong sisters, invaluable lessons, and a family I’ll cherish forever. Thank you, Big Sister Little Sister Mentoring Program, Inc., for allowing me to serve, lead, mentor, and grow into a better version of myself. The position may end, but the sisterhood and its impact will stay with me forever.
