Happy pride month from us here at Nexus!!

Starting this month off with a bit of history, the gay ear! Stemming from the 70s and 80s when it was unsafe to be publicly queer, piercings were used as subtle signals for folks to announce their sexuality to look for safe people and potential partners.

Reclaiming this symbol today is something that can be extremely powerful. Many younger queer folks are purposefully choosing to get pierced on the “gay side” to wear their identity proudly. So which ear is the gay ear? by @_itsanoforme

My best friend. My most trusted confidant. My rock, my safety, my home, and for 11 years my love.

Talking about all the ways you have improved my life would take days, and even longer the list of ways in which you show me that I am loved every single day. I say it frequently, you and I are the one thing in the vast number of things that I worry about, that I never feel uncertain or insecure about.

Going through life with you has been the absolute tits, and it just gets better every year (even if the world is content on yeeting itself). You are aging into more and more of your most authentic self every year, and I am so excited to continue to watch you thrive.

Happy birthday baby 🖤 you’re a dummy and I love you more than anything @howthemidwestwaswon by @_itsanoforme

*I am no longer affiliated with or employed by Sacred Siren Parlor in Minneapolis.*

I had really hoped this was it for me. I had found my people, in both clients and colleagues. A space where my wife could feel safe and confident and so many others like her.

I submitted my resignation yesterday.

I am profoundly grateful for the very small amount of time I spent with an incredible group of femmes who are masters at their craft. The things I’ve learned, the kindnesses I’ve been extended, and the encouragement and support I received while I reentered an industry that nearly killed me, is something I will never forget, and I hope to stay connected with all of you for life. 🖤

Take a hard look at the men in your life who profit solely off the hard work and creativity of women.

I love you, my babes. Thank you for welcoming me.

Absolutely no idea what’s next and scared shitless, but, so it goes. 🖤🤞hire me for your next burning ship? by @_itsanoforme

It is such an absolute honor to tandem pierce @howthemidwestwaswon with my lovely coworker @maniabodymods while Jade’s wife (and our friend and badass coworker) @_itsanoforme held her hand. I am so blessed to have these amazing friends in my life. And thanks Sarah for hanging out and shadowing with me all day. ✨

“Happy fake holiday but at least we don’t have to work” didn’t fit as well on the page.
