He Never Left

Three years ago today was the lowest point of my life.
I wasn’t sure of my direction,
I was far from my family,
Far from my girlfriend (now wife),
Far from the plan that I had drawn up for myself,
Worst of all, I thought that God had left me.
I thought that the One that I had built my life on,
Given countless hours to,
Talked to, cried to, surrendered to,
Had packed up His bags and left
Because I just wasn’t getting better.

What am I when my Foundation seems to go quiet, what is Faith like without feeling?

The root of my anxiety was a lack of trust in God’s sovereignty and presence.

This song not only commemorates the three year anniversary of the day that I lost the desire to live, but also dances on the lies of the devil, celebrating the Lord’s powerful work in pulling me from that darkness into the joy of the Truth of His presence.

His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), He holds all things together (Colossians 1:15-17) and He is with us always (Psalm 46:1, Hebrews 13:5).

I hope this song reminds you of the hope we have in Christ, that no matter what we go through, He is there, cares, and is using it for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28-29), whether we feel it or not.

When I look at 2025, the biggest thing I feel is unworthiness.

I’m so blessed to be surrounded by such high quality people, encouraging me in the Faith, pushing me on, and helping equip me. So blessed to have such a wonderful fiancée @lillie_walterss , such a wonderful family, Church, friends, school, and such kind listeners. Thank you so much for supporting me on this journey so far.

I’m so grateful for the Lord and His sacrifice for me so that I could live, and His constant work in me to change this stubborn heart to be more like Him. I will never come close to fully understanding His grace and love, but I’m eternally grateful.

Thank you so much also to @d.j.kilian I’m so grateful for your help in the whole musical process, and in running my social media. Above that, I’m grateful to be your friend, and God has blessed me with a warrior in Christ as a best friend to help sharpen me in this often rugged road of the Faith.

May the music I write and the words I say never be for or about myself. May it always be to first and foremost praise God, and second, to help you, as we walk this joyful but sometimes wearisome road of the Faith together.

May all they remember of us be the Lord’s goodness.

2 years of work, a lifetime of experiences.

Poison out on all platforms.

All my life I have watched addiction wreak havoc on the world around me. From family members losing their purpose to friends losing their lives, addiction takes and gives nothing in return. I found myself a slave to addiction for 10 years, complacently letting it ruin my life, my relationships, my Faith, and my vitality. I wrote this song through the pain of the loss and confusion I encountered, with the goal of helping others see the destruction addiction causes, hoping to spur them to freedom.

All glory to God, please pray with me that this song shines light and hope to those struggling and/or walking in darkness.
