John 16:33

Thank you God. I’m blessed to have played a role in electing @lbr as Delaware’s First Woman and African American to the US Senate🤞🏾From engaging with voters all across the state to working with a phenomenal group of people—the past 6 months have been nothing short of transformative, and I’m honored to have been a part. Although the election didn’t go as WE planned, HIS plan will always prevail.

In the words of KDOT himself, “When 💩 hits the fan are you still a fan?”

The fight continues 🤝🏾 s/o to Team LBR🧡💙

One thing about #cbcweek? No matter when you touch down, you’re destined to 1.) have a great time & 2.) run into your peoples 😂🤞🏾

That’s what I love most about this time of the year. Where you can be surrounded by & celebrate black culture/success, black professionals, and black power—all at once.

Until next year! @cbcfinc taken in Washington D. C. by @_j.spence_

What a full circle moment today 🙏🏾

Back in 2015-16, Pastor Trey DuPont came to Harrisburg, PA to serve as the youth pastor at my church, @thegreaterzionbaptist. Little did I know, he would play a MAJOR role in my life—quickly becoming a mentor and extended family. From being instrumental in taking a group of us on HBCU tours to eventually becoming Senior Pastor of the church, I’m forever thankful that he’s been in my corner this last decade.

This is where the world gets smaller 😂 Since being in Delaware, I’ve also had the pleasure of getting to know Bishop Jeffery J Broughton Sr. And come to find out, Bishop and Pastor Trey go way back! So it was only fitting that Pastor Trey would be the guest preacher for Bishop’s 20th pastoral anniversary today. (Congrats again, Bishop 👏🏾)

Isn’t it amazing how the Lord continues to move in our lives? ✝️ It’s an honor to know you both, Pastor and Bishop 🤞🏾 taken in Living Grace Worship Cathedral by @_j.spence_

As we wrapped up Q2 and transitioned into Q3, I’ll be honest—it’s been a trying season personally. 😂

But as I shared with my LDI cohort recently, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass—it’s learning how to dance in the rain.” ☔️ And that’s exactly what I’ve tried to do.

The past few months have been incredibly productive and deeply fulfilling. From hosting high-impact events, advocating for the community and sharpening my craft, I’m grateful to God for every opportunity.

My proudest moment, though? Watching my baby sister (who’s not a baby anymore 🥲) graduate from high school and prepare to become a future Hornet at the greatest HBCU— @delstateuniv 🐝

Here’s to finishing 2026 strong. 💪🏾 by @_j.spence_

Generations of Americans fought to expand access to the ballot and ensure that our democracy reflects the voices of all people—not just a select few.

That is why our Chair, Vice Chair, and Ambassador of @rec.delaware , established through HB 375, joined community advocates and partner organizations from across our state in issuing a statement following the Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais. As outlined in our statement (swipe to the end), this ruling threatens decades of progress and reinforces the need for Delaware to act.

We are proud to support the introduction of the Delaware John Lewis Voting Rights Act (HB 444)—the first state-level John Lewis Voting Rights Act introduced since the Callais decision. Led by Rep. Larry Lambert, Sen. Marie Pinkney, @acludelaware , @naacp_ldf , and the @naacp , this legislation seeks to strengthen protections against discriminatory voting practices and ensure every Delawarean has equitable access to our democratic process.

So while the Court may have narrowed legal protections, it has not narrowed our resolve.

We will continue working to ensure that every Delawarean is seen, heard, represented, and empowered to participate in our democracy✊🏾
