As the Founder of Regen Action Tanzania which is implementing partner of the PPB Project in Tanzania under @wwftanzania we are at SBSTTA 28 and SBI 7 under the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), taking place at the UNEP Headquarters

This is more than attending a global meeting. It is about ensuring that the voices of local communities and young people are heard where decisions on the future of biodiversity are made.

At SBSTTA 28, I was following Agenda Item 7, which focuses on the scientific and technical needs to implement the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, including the strategic review and update of the Programme of Work on Protected Areas. I am also engaging in discussions on synthetic biology and its implications for biodiversity. (IIFB)

At SBI 7, my focus is on Digital Sequence Information (DSI) and Agenda Item 4: 4(a) Resource Mobilization and 4(b) the Financial Mechanism. As a climate finance expert, I am advocating for biodiversity finance that directly reaches local communities, youth, women, and other frontline actors who are already protecting nature. (IIFB)

Real impact happens when those closest to nature have both a seat at the table and access to the resources needed to drive change. This is to ensure Youth meaning full participation in the Global Policy Tables. Shut out to PPB Tanzania under @wwftanzania for supporting Youth participation in this Global Platforms

Wrapping up Days 4 & 5 of YOULEAD Africa 2026 feeling inspired and energized.

As a climate Expert , I had the opportunity to connect with incredible climate experts and negotiators shaping conversations around the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA). A special thanks to @agraalliance , @agra_africa highlighting the critical role of climate-smart agriculture and agribusiness in building a resilient and sustainable future for our continent.

We only have one planet, and protecting it is our collective responsibility.

We may not be where we want to be yet, but we are far from where we started. As young leaders, we must continue to show up, take up space, and create opportunities where they don’t exist.

If not now, then when?

4 impactful days at YouLead Africa Summit 2026 🌍✨

As a climate change expert and AGRA delegate ,I had the honor of speaking before 300+ young leaders from across Africa on agri-food systems, green smart agriculture, and integrating climate action across the agricultural value chain.

It was truly a dream come true to share the stage alongside the Minister of Youth Tanzania, European Union Delegation in Tanzania, Poland Embassy in Tanzania, MST CDC Director, and ULead Africa.

This summit was a reminder that young people belong in spaces where decisions are made. To every young African leader: take up space, speak boldly, and cement your place. Because if not now, then when?

Grateful for the connections, lessons, and shared vision for a sustainable Africa. ✨

Honored to have been invited by the Office of the Vice President of Tanzania to participate in a two-day technical meeting on the decarbonization of the cement industry in Tanzania 🇹🇿🌍
The discussions brought together experts, industry leaders, and partners including industrial labs from the USA to explore sustainable pathways for reducing carbon emissions in the cement sector while advancing Tanzania’s environmental goals.
As a climate advocate with a chemistry background and representing Regen Action Organizations , it was a valuable opportunity to contribute, learn, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful conversations around sustainability and climate solutions for our future.

Grateful for the experience, the connections, and the shared commitment toward a greener and more sustainable Tanzania. 🌱

My time at COP30 reminded me how powerful youth voices truly are. I contributed to the Global Youth Statement and later joined a UNDP panel where we talked about turning youth ideas from paper into real action on the ground.
I also connected with the Oxford University delegation to explore ways we can empower young people beyond borders. Throughout the summit, I followed the Adaptation (GGA) negotiations to make sure our perspective stayed present in the technical rooms.
We rounded off with meaningful engagements with energy leaders from Singapore, Zambia, Indonesia, and the UNDP Country Representative of Zambia all focused on building a stronger and more inclusive climate future.

Still grateful, still learning, still showing up. ✨🌍 by @_james_magesa
