NOW SHOWING: Reject the Null

Curated by Annie Heisel

At the Richardson Family Art Gallery, Wofford College from September 1st- December 11th. Reception and panel discussion is on October 15th!

“In a world filled to the brim by exchanges of energy, material matter, and ongoing systems, Reject the Null utilizes experimentation to better understand humanity’s place within a chaotic yet interconnected natural world.”

I’m humbled and grateful to be included in this exhibition amongst such mind-blowing talent! It’s always a joy returning to the space that transformed me and my art. Thank you @annie.heisel.art for curating a show not to miss! And shoutout @woffordcollege_aah for all of your support! taken in Wofford College by @_k.re.ate_

‘You Are What You Consume.’ Acrylic on handmade paper made from Banff, Canada trail trash on handmade paper collage, labubu keychain found on the trail, canvas. 2026

This work illustrates the North American Pine Beetles devastating impact on the Pine tree due to warmer winters resulting in overpopulation. The substrate is handmade paper made from rain jacket tags, maps, receipts, Pokémon cards, and more that I picked up over the span of a week in May, despite the multitude of trail signs stating ‘Pack out everything you pack in.’

I want to cast this labubu so stay tuned by @_k.re.ate_
