I’ve always loved to play and be outside. Skydiving is the best of both. It’s like living a childhood dream each time I go. And after having to learn to walk again, twice, and work so hard to get back to it, it’s a literal achievement each time I jump. One that I will usually scream or cry alone about in my car after. A mixture of joy and grief. I’m not as present as I want to be around the people I jump with. I’m still processing packing my chute, planning my day, preparing my mind and body, and putting myself out there rather than closing off. But scientific evidence suggests roughly 20 - 52 seconds of free fall is the best cure for that, and I’m not one to argue with science. I don’t always wake up motivated. Often I wake up in a fog. Most days it’s just me choosing to show up anyway—through pain, frustration, and exhaustion.

Coming back from injuries didn’t make me stronger overnight, it just forced me to be consistent when it would’ve been easier to disappear.

Some parts of this journey I keep to myself because not everything needs to be explained or turned into content. But if there’s anything worth sharing, it’s this: progress isn’t loud, and it’s rarely inspiring in the moment. It’s quiet, repetitive, uncomfortable, and lonely.

I know I share about my accidents and the pain I still live with. Truth is, I’d rather never talk about those events again.

But I’m reminded of them daily —
when something that used to be easy still feels so fucking hard,
or when someone asks why I limp.

Posting about it sometimes feels like complaining.
But I’ve learned a lot of people feel what I feel — they just don’t know how to say it.

Vulnerability doesn’t scare me.
Nobody can tell me different about my experience.
I poke holes in my own story every day. I question everything I feel.

So if being honest opens me to criticism?
F*ck it. Nobody’s harder on me than me.
And nobody says shit to my face anyway.

Do I wish I’d ease up on myself sometimes? Yeah.
Am I learning to? Yeah.
But if that pressure pushes me to get better — I’ll take it.

Because if I didn’t care this much, no one else would.

I’m the one who gives a damn if I get back on the board.
Back on the plane.
Back to the man I know I am.

It’s not that people don’t care —
I’ve gotten so many kind messages and I appreciate them more than you know.

But no one else is going to do the work for me.

Am I satisfied with where I’m at?
Fuck no.

Is that going to make me stop?
FUCK no.

Still here.
Still going.
