“Honeysuckle” is here ✨

I’ve debated how to tell the story of this song. It’s the most vulnerable thing I’ve written, and I honestly wondered whether or not to include it on the record.

October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month, and it seems fitting to share a bit of the story. My husband and I have faced this grief twice within 8 short months.

This song was written after our first loss. I was pregnant with our next when I later recorded the vocals for it. We lost that baby only a few weeks later after that studio session.

I don’t share this story to earn your pity but instead to remind you to be tender towards those who are navigating grief, whether from pregnancy loss or not.

We live in a tension on this side of heaven. A tension of hope and ache. Sorrow and joy. The now and not yet.

At the end of the day, I want to echo the words of Job in my head and my heart: “The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” by @_klmstudio
