🚨 Update: Volume 001 and 002 are out! Link in Bio 🚨

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I produce a lot of music.
At the same time, I struggle to release albums. Over time, I’ve gathered several hundred tracks that never got released and are now collecting dust in my archive.

So I decided to start a new series that makes it easy for me to document my music and share it with you without the hassle of shaping “proper” albums.

It will not only open up my archive, but also give me a simple way to share new music as I make it.

I will release everything I think is worth sharing in a new series called Home Recordings. No album covers, no track titles, just pure music. Everything is allowed—from a single 30-minute Digitone jam to rough ideas captured on my phone with GarageBand. It all belongs here. This matches my sketchbook-like diary approach here on Instagram.

These Home Recordings vary greatly in style and production quality. They share the nature of demos, the feeling of cassette tapes filled with weird niche music that you share among friends.

I hope there’s something interesting in them for you.

I will regularly release new Home Recordings on @bandcamp and @soundcloud starting this week with the first few editions.

There will be a post for each release.

Cheers,
Marco

Sequencing Battalion simultaneously with Opal CTL and a Markov chain. The Markov Chain defines the basic beat - Opal adds stuff to it and modulates parameters of Battalion, with surprising results. It feels like the two sequencers are fighting with each other and I am not sure how the midi signal are prioritised.

Further explorations with Markov chain Battalion Combo.
Playing with the tempo on this one and a lot of modulation.

These are excerpts from a one-take session last night after seeing Autechre live. I might have to put this on a record. There is a lot going on in the low end, headphones recommended.

Its a ridiculously deep plugin. I made presets for the release, slide 3 is made with one if these.

Home Recordings 004 - War on Empathy is out.
Link in Bio.

This release is part of my Home Recordings series, where I share music without the pressure of shaping "perfect" albums. The concept is simple: explore a musical idea, capture it directly to tape, and release it as it is, without overthinking it.

Volume 004 is a beat-oriented exercise that uses a limited drum machine setup with a maximum of 8 samples per song. It is the spiritual successor to “Home Recordings 001,” in which I took the same approach.
