Feeling very excited and grateful after attending the opening ceremony and meeting the Australian team properly 🇦🇺
After the final weeks of training (with an injured hand), the travel and stress, getting here and seeing it firsthand makes it feel real and worthwhile.
The ceremony was cool but a few people missing as you can see in the last slide 😂

BENCH WORLDS 26 🌏🇦🇺

I ticked off a big goal of mine this week, competing in the IPF at the Bench Press World Championships in Warsaw. It was pretty cool that this was my first international competition.

I knew coming into this that I wouldn’t be able to hit the goals that I had and was feeling down about it in my last few weeks of training post-hand injury.
I am glad that I did it anyway. I learned a lot, had a good experience, met heaps of great people and got to enjoy watching the rest of the sessions and support alongside the Aus team.

I hit 90kg which placed me 5th in my weight class. Not a PR but pretty good considering the circumstances.

Thanks very much to all those who watched and supported, even my friends who don’t watch powerlifting. The best part was feeling supported by so many people.

Big thanks to coaches -

💯 x 1 PR

Ended this block with two PRs in one session - 97.5 and 100. This is what I was hoping to hit before worlds earlier in the year but my hand injury stopped that from happening. Super excited that patience, perseverance and hard work is paying off.

New PR - 95 x 3 on 6th set of ascending triples ✨

Finished my block of triples with my 1rm for 3! I haven’t posted much training lately because I needed time to build back after my hand injury. I’ve just been training in my garage and doing the work which is paying off.

I was going to compete at Commonwealths but the way I was going post-worlds made that feel too difficult so I decided not to do it and do Oceania’s in Fiji instead. 🏝️🏝️

Next comp is in November, the only goal is to try and stay out of the hospital this time and have a fun time wearing the green and gold 🤗🤞

Went to Rock im Park on Friday which was an awesome way to end the trip. @rawstrengthcoach and I usually watch these shows on YouTube so it was so good to actually experience it first hand. This was the reason we picked Germany to visit after Poland because the timing after Worlds was perfect.
Got to see so many of my favourite bands on the same day 😎

Munich and Nuremberg 🇩🇪

Spent a few days in both towns, saw some cool churches and buildings, went to Albrecht Durer’s house, ate some more good food and drank sparkling water in a famous beer hall.

Just when I was hoping my training would bounce back post-illness, I ended up in hospital 😅
Just going to keep training and doing what I can because a bad prep doesn’t always lead to a bad comp. Thanks to everyone who has been helping me with equipment while I’ve been doing things one handed, especially @rawstrengthcoach
It could have been much worse, so I am grateful I can still do what I’m doing. Three weeks to go 🇵🇱
