Traditional International Women’s Day post.
Symbolic enough, it was today when I took part in my first ever road cycling race.
It was a 3-hour drive from where I live, and my bestie @koschkavlukoschke woke up at idk how early (probably 7am, and, mind you, on a Sunday!!!) to drive me there and cheer for me without any hesitation. This act of friendship, support and sisterhood makes me so happy and proud that I honestly don’t even care about how miserably I failed at the race.
She saw me planning to do a brave crazy thing and gave me full support for it, and I’ll do the same for her anytime.
(My husband went as well and deserves some credit too, but it’s not the point).
Let’s be like me and be like her. Let’s support, encourage and embrace each other’s reckless ideas and win the world eventually!

If you are interested, what went wrong with the race:
Here I am: shiny new bike, cute kit, white socks even.
And although coming home in one piece is an achievement in itself, I did not finish and had not even ridden long enough to get tired. I only lasted like 7 minutes in the peloton before getting dropped (and stupid enough I did not have the route in my bike computer to finish it alone as a TT so just rode back to the HQ after giving up on my attempts to return to the peloton). And the main reason for that was tactics, physical abilities just didn’t allow me to catch back up.

But - surprised to report - it’s not the end of the world and I’m not even as disappointed as I would expect in such scenario. The only other girl in the race got dropped some time later (along with some guys tho, so well done her).
Rough one, but I will try again. Because girls will be girls 💪💜

Happy Halloween🎃
My absolutely favourite holiday, and this year I have finally made cycling costume(s)🤩
Considering to keep the hat on my helmet and the broom on my bike for at least this week. People’s reaction to costumes was priceless, not just some cheering, but so many have done a very convincing witch laughter😈 from their cars when they passed us (or we passed them haha London speed limit is a pain)

Почти все дни в Риме мы работали, поэтому город нам достался ночной. Гулять январской ночью по европейскому городу могло бы стать проблемой где-то, но не в Риме.
Во-первых, это вообще блин не зима, когда +16 днём и +10 ночью, во-вторых, освещается он сильно лучше большинства европейских городов, где я бывала. Я подозреваю, это потому, что ну слишком много всего красивого, прятать такое может считаться преступлением. Прямо как последняя фотка - уже после покупки симпатичных маленьких просекко мы нагуглили, что пить алкоголь на улице в Риме вообще-то нельзя.
Но ни для кого не секрет, что употребление местного бухлишка из маленьких емкостей дает +20 к настроению и объединяет путешественников по всему миру. Да, @vegetable416 ?🙃

В том, что хоть немного в зоне моего контроля, 2022 для меня - год побед со странным вкусом:

✅ Получили с Димой ключи от своей квартиры в Москве
❌ не пожили в ней ни одного дня, и я даже не сделала так давно желанную московскую прописку

✅ починила нос, с которым страдала 5 с лишним лет
❌ но магии все еще не существует, и мне все равно нужен спрей

✅ у меня новая офигенная работа
❌ но я так и не стала тим-лидом на прошлой, и путь к этому опять будет долгим

✅ переехали в Лондон, воплотив давнюю идею пожить где-то за границей
❌ оказалось, переезд без друзей - не так уж и весело

✅ внезапно много путешествий: аж 4 новые страны. И сёрфинг индийском океане😍
❌ ... не, ну тут никаких минусов быть не может, путешествия всегда кайф😅

Что вне зоны моего контроля - расстраивает меня ужасно, вобла - премерзкая рыба.

Красивая картинка с хайкинга по Seven Sisters просто потому, что она мне нравится.

Пусть 2023 будет ко всем добрее, чем 2022💜
