**NDINGUBANI NA? — Who am I?**

What does it mean to carry two cultures, two histories, and two legacies within one body?

Growing up Xhosa and Mozambican, I spent years searching for a part of myself I had never fully known. In 2025, I travelled to Mozambique and began that journey of rediscovery.

Along the way, I encountered the Capulana, a fabric deeply woven into everyday life, culture and identity in Mozambique. What I first saw as clothing became a symbol of heritage, memory and connection to a culture I was still learning to call my own. This body of work desires to create an environment that invites audiences to reflect on their own histories , the cultures they have inherited, the cultures they may have lost and the parts of themselves they are still learning to understand.

NDINGUBANI NA? WHO AM I? EXHIBITION.

What an honour it was to showcase my story on such a big stage. NDINGUBANI NA? WHO AM I? Is an exploration of identity, duality in our very existence and the legacies that make us who we are. I felt propelled to tell this story not only for myself but for others who find themselves on the same journey of discovering who they are, an opportunity to ask questions and hopefully in between get the answers they need. This body of work is so important and I truly believe that the work has only began. Thankful to @melvilleartmile for granting me the space to tell my story.

Bomi ungubani na? *Turning 26 in a few days and I been fighting the worst birthday blues ever. Someone said birthday blues are a “mixture of emotions of happiness and the sadness of grieving who you thought you would be now “ and yes felt. What a season of everything really. That frontal lobe development is no joke and as a feeler of things what a time I had but always grateful for the ability to introspect , forgive , relearn and honestly hug myself in the process. In a year I mourned , lost , regained , cried , relived, realised , undo but most importantly grow. In the moments of difficulty I’m also grateful for the pockets of time I got to spend being reminded that it’s okay to breathe , to live and to be present. Thank you to love (eternally grateful) for being a constant reminder of kindness, gentleness, honesty and patience. It may not be my easy ride right now but trust and believe ngizima ngabi and there’s nothing I’m not conquering. I would say thank 25 & frontal lobe development but woah let me finish picking up my jaw from the ground because wowza .
