While we were packing up the car in the pouring rain I honestly wasn't optimistic about how things were going to go. In an insanely unexpected turn of events we came very close to selling out and I can't thank you all enough for the support. ⁣
⁣
Little Imposter is going to take a break for the next few months. Working two jobs, running a popup, & managing an autoimmune disorder is a tall order and I'm hoping to create more down time where I can. ⁣
⁣

It's been almost exactly a year since I started doing the popup out of my garage. Finishing up the last week with our friends @melodywinebar gave me a lot of time to reflect on that year and how much this project has grown in that time. I meant to post something sooner, but I've been dealing with autoimmune flare ups for the past few weeks. Being able to have the downtime to take care of my health was a huge part in making the jump to being self employed. Despite that, there is so much to celebrate, and I am so grateful to my friends who have helped or hosted along the way. I'll be posting updates on future popups soon once I'm feeling up to speed again. Thank you for your love, your support, & most of all for letting me feed you. ⁣⁣

This past weekend was Little Imposter's oyster shucking debut! @puffdao threw such an incredible event unlike anything that I've seen before. Thank you so much for including us in your vision. ☺️🙏⁣⁣

I'm super excited to announce that we'll be shucking oysters alongside some old friends this week at the @puffdao Farmer's Market on March 5th! We'll be celebrating their one year anniversary alongside other great small businesses. The first time that I cooked for the Filipino side of my family I was so disheartened to have that as the first bit of feedback. The instant discredit of my version really killed my confidence, so needless to say this version of adobo stayed in the archives for years in lieu of more traditional preparation methods. ⁣
⁣
The feedback from y'all this week was so affirming for this bad Filipina. If you're Filipino then you know that our own people, typically the older generations, can often be the most critical of us. Adobo comes in many forms with the recipes varying from home to home and I can finally embrace that this is my version and it's completely valid.

I’ve been told that not everyone is familiar with this Filipino party food much to my surprise, so this post is for y’all 💛⁣
⁣
Lumpia is essentially a spring roll that's very commonly made with ground pork, among other things, wrapped in a thin crispy wrapper. ⁣
⁣
Ours is just a little remix with yuzu kosho and dill. On the side you'll see the atchara chow chow, which is a bright picklely bite to cut throught the fattiness, as well as our lacto fermented hot sauce. taken in MELODY - Los Angeles by @_littleimposter
