This week I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to El Salvador on a medical mission trip with CMDA through GHO. By God’s grace we prayed for and treated 965 people. We gave out over 400 prescription medications. I cried a lot and I laughed even more.

My dad once told me, when you’re hugging someone never be the first person to let go. Over the years I became such a hugger that I often get nervous that I’ll trap someone in a hug longer than they desire. So I’ve gotten used to letting go a little quicker. But there is a warmth I feel when I release the tension in a hug, but the other person holds tighter. It reminds me that I didn’t wanna let go either! It makes me feel secure, important, cared for and loved. It reminded me that’s how God loves us. When we’re over it, he squeezes tighter. He doesn’t wanna let go. When we walk away Jesus chases after us. This trip I got soooo many of those hugs. They are what I will remember most. Genuine, sweet, meaningful hugs with people ages 2-70 years old. Hugs from strangers that became family. Prayers from people who were coming to get treatment but had no prayer requests but instead wanted to pray for me. They all made me feel seen and important. Like within each prayer and each hug we were both reminding each other how much we matter. ♥️ taken in La Unión, El Salvador by @_lolostenson

To whom it may concern. This is a decision that I came to around a year ago. 🤍 I’m sharing now because I was ready. Unsure how long I’ll leave this up for. It’s really me ripping off the bandaid and standing on a decision that I made with God. I never experienced anything crazy or negative that discouraged me from being a member of a Greek organization. I still love every person that I grew close to as a member and I don’t see that changing on my end. I simply found scripture that I couldn’t ignore anymore and researched rituals that I couldn’t defend. I had to make a decision on who I pledged my heart to and I didn’t want it to be to anything other than God or outside of God. Love you all like I love me, but I don’t pledge my heart or my life to anything other than or in addition to God. 🤍 That was my choice. I’m not making any judgements for anyone else who feels differently, that isn’t my place.

🎓I am a Student Doctor🤭🤭.

Thank you God for everything. Today I received my Master of Science in Medical Sciences. Andddd it’s official!!! MD Loading… 🥹I’ll be staying in Atlanta pursuing my Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at Morehouse School of Medicine.
