With God by my side, He turned my pain into passion. Losing my brother showed me the ache of having very few memories. Losing my God-sister reminded me of the comfort in having many. Grief taught me that photos don’t take the pain away… but they hold pieces of the people we love.

This is why I started @momentsbymaes to help you capture the moments you’ll one day hold close. ❤️📸

My first ever Half Marathon.

Community is EVERYTHING.

It’s still not too late to donate to 826 Heart and help us raise money for life-saving defibrillators.

Wow… I actually did it. I COMPLETED THE BIG HALF!!! @officialbighalf When I first said yes to doing this, I genuinely thought I’d end up giving my place away last minute 😂 so I’m SO proud of myself for actually getting to that finish line and pushing myself further than I thought I could.

BUT I have to give all glory to God! Honestly, without the strength of the Lord, I would not be posting this right now. There were moments during that run where it was literally just me and God. Every time I felt like I couldn’t go any further, God showed up and gave me the strength to keep going. And He even showed up through so many of you cheering and encouraging me but I’d like to say a special thank you to @jahnaycymon_ @michaelstephen3 and @tylasky__ who paced me and helped carry me all the way to that finish line. You guys don’t understand how much you helped me in those final miles. I LOVE YOU GUYS BAD ❤️

And a special thank you to @movewithmonts @flakesofafeather @kadeankay and @jardonruns the moment you guys saw me, you cheered me on, spoke life into me and gave me that extra push I needed. I appreciate you guys so much ❤️

@826active what a community! The way you push, motivate and make people believe they can do things they never thought they could. This wouldn’t have even crossed my mind without you guys, so thank you every single time!

Anyway… I’m going back to taking pictures at track because I don’t know how you lot do this running thing. HOWEVER… Clearly I’m a runner now because I just ran a HALF MARATHON?!?! So I guess I’ll see you at track. 🏆

This year has taught me so much, and we’d be here forever if I tried to list it all. But if there’s one lesson I want to share, it’s that having love in your heart adds so much value to life. Love has the power to uplift and heal, and it’s a reflection of God’s presence in everything we do. So do everything with love. If love isn’t involved, I DON’T WANT IT.

Anyways, thank you to everyone who contributed to my 27 years on this earth. Cheers to 28 ❤️ by @_maesx
