I’ll be spinning some records alongside @meinzman this coming Saturday, 26 September, as part of the performance evening in the "Was die Stimme nicht weiß" series at the FRISE Künstler*innenhaus. The evening starts at 7 pm; Dirk and I will kick things off at around 9 pm with a few records that tie in with the theme of the unconscious. This time, the bar is right in the exhibition space! Come along!

There’ll be further contributions this evening from @reginesteenbock @majabogumilahoffmann and @cfkintz

Eröffnung & Performance:
Donnerstag, 21. Mai, ab 19 Uhr
Achim Lengerer @scriptings_
„Voix-off: … Aber wir sind der Sprache scheißegal“

Mit Tönen, filmischen Bildern und Texten von
Achim Lengerer und Fernand Deligny

Freitag, 15. Mai, 19 Uhr, Eröffnung & Konzert:

Stefanie Kiwi Menrath & Andrew Pekler

Phantom Islands – A Sonic Atlas

Ausstellung: 16. Mai —17. Mai

Geöffnet: Samstag, 16. Mai und Sonntag, 17. Mai,
15—19 Uhr

The concept behind one of my early video works has made it onto the red carpet again! First at the 2024 Oscars in Hollywood and now last week at the Berlinale @berlinale in Berlin: Donata Wenders wore three films by her husband Wim in the form of a dress by Cruba @crubaberlin, designed by Mira von der Osten (2).
In 1997, during my time as an art student, I experimented not only with filming, but also with the material itself. The results included a jacket, a scarf and a series of portraits of my friends on tape wrapped around stretcher frames (3-5). Carsten Nicolai used a similar concept in his 2004 work Portrait (6).
One detail did irritate me on the red carpet, however, because the handbag Donata carried with her dress resembled an oversized audio cassette rather than a VHS cassette. But perhaps this is simply another reference, namely to Christian Marclay’s crocheted cushion „The Beatles“ from 1989.(7-8)
