Another theft scene from Robert Bresson’s 1959 film "Pickpocket" in form of a frame by frame sequence that was incorporated into the final version of "The Ballad of George Barrington". The scene was created at the editing table of the German Film Institute and Film Museum archive in Wiesbaden @dff.film. The Soundtrack is by the Berlin-based musician Andrew Pekler @andrewpekler. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your support!
The next screening of "The Ballad of George Barrington" will take place this coming Friday, 25 September, at 7 pm at the Filmhaus Saarbrücken @filmhaus_saarbruecken

Apparently, the “Celebrated Barrington Cocktail” was already included in “THE BAR TENDER’S GUIDE OR HOW TO MIX ALL KINDS OF PLAIN AND FANCY DRINKS” as early as 1887!
One thing is certain: In 2025 the German food magazine @essenundtrinken_magazin published this wonderful recipe in its “Mixed” section. In addition, on September 25, 2026, at @filmhaus_saarbruecken, there will be a rare opportunity to enjoy a cocktail and raise a glass to Robert Bresson, whose 125th birthday will be celebrated on that day!
Cheers, and see you soon in Saarbrücken @saarbruecken.de by @thebarringtonsociety
