Lets talk about this work titled "Traffic Jam"
I began this work late last year and finished not too long ago.
The work centers on how life in Nigeria over the years has gradually become suffocating as the economy doesn't seem to get any better, causing people to seek desperately for measures to survive and still pursue their dreams.

The use of red as a dominant color expresses a popular saying in pidgin "everywhere don red" Which means that nothing is going well. The economy has put the country and her people in a long traffic with little or no green light

Unpacking the essence of "Obiageri" - a timeless Igbo name that embodies prosperity and beauty. I've always believed that this name is reserved for stunning women, whose allure attracts favor, wealth, and devoted suitors. Let's delve into the evolution of the traditional Obiageri versus the modern Obiageri, exploring how perceptions have shifted over time.

Art has a way of slowing you down and asking you to look again.

A few moments from Nature Recast, a ceramics exhibition by Adekunle Olaiya, curated by Ugonna Ibekwe.

Grateful for the experience. 🌿🏺 taken in University of Nigeria, Nsukka by @_miracleartist_

In a dark corner of the street, in front of a small kiosk,
two benches sit holding the memory of something warm.
This was where I once saw a kind of love that made the night disappear.

A young girl leaned across her father’s lap, laughter spilling between them,
and he, with tired, drooping eyes, smiled as though nothing else mattered,
his hand resting gently in her hair.
It was simple...Honest...Enough...

That feeling reached me, even when I didn’t want it to, so I avoided it.
Avoided the corner. Avoided the kiosk.
But last night, the big stores didn’t have the bread I wanted.
And somehow, I found my way back.

The benches were still there.

'The significant other"

Two beings meet in reflection
similar, yet never the same.
Eyes open, but turned inward,
seeing what cannot be mirrored.

A quiet romance of beauty, peace,
love, and psychological reflection
where the other becomes a gentle reminder
that we are not always what we appear to be. 🙂 by @_miracleartist_
