[26/30] was in the mood for pink! this is of the tribunal room in the amsterdam royal palace, which is where criminals would receive their death sentences. i really like the sculptures they choose for the room… they’re so ominous

春节快乐 happy lunar new year everyone!! 🧧🧨🐎

long time no post—a lot of big changes have happened in my life and I've been working on this project quietly for the last couple months! ❤️ I plan to sell this as a riso print eventually so if you're interested in getting email updates for when that drops please sign up for my newsletter (🔗 in bio!) or just turn post notifs on ☺️ I think I'll also talk more about the process in a newsletter bc there's a lot of little details that I could go into!

I absolutely adore 剪纸 (paper cut art) and I really wanted to tackle this piece in the way Chinese ppl were creating 剪纸 thousands of years ago. I'm really happy with how I was able to find a balance btwn traditional Chinese iconography and my own style in the design. I also genuinely felt so joyful while making this, which felt so nice after feeling art blocked/obligated to create art for a long time ❤️ I'm planning to be more active on this account this year and table at local events as well! happy horse year!!! 马年大吉，马上成功，马上暴富! 🐎🐎 by @_moynin_

our Airbnb in Tokyo was a little bit away from the Tokyo Art Book Fair so every morning for four days we walked this path to the fair (and ofc stopped by the conbini for breakfast 🍙)

back in November I had the opportunity to table at the Tokyo Art Book Fair! it was the first time I've been to Japan (not including layovers to China lol) so it was an amazing experience exploring a new city, seeing work, and meeting artists I'd otherwise never run into in the US. all my #pleinairpril pieces will be based on moments from this trip. this photo was taken the first morning after we landed, in the little Koto neighborhood where we stayed- everything felt so magical ✨
