Happy 80th BIRTHDAY to my beautiful Mom! 🎉💜

Today we celebrate an incredible woman who means the world to me. Mom, you are my rock, my foundation, my safe place, and one of my greatest blessings. The woman I am today is because of your love, guidance, strength, and unwavering support throughout my life.

Thank you for always being there for me, for loving me unconditionally, and for helping me raise and care for all of my children. Your sacrifices, wisdom, and nurturing spirit have touched generations of our family, and we are all better because of you.

At 80 years young, you continue to inspire me with your resilience, grace, and beautiful heart. I am so grateful for every lesson you’ve taught me, every hug you’ve given me, and every moment you’ve stood by my side.

I met this beauty back in 2010 when our sons were freshmen in high school playing football 🏈 My son Khylan asked if he could go over to his friend’s house for a family BBQ. Of course, I said yes… but first, I needed to meet his friend’s mom. 😅

So I pulled up, met mom, looked around like “okayyyy this place looks nice, you can stay.” 😂 Little did I know, life was already setting something bigger in motion.

Now let’s backpedal for a second… this photo is a full-circle moment from our days at Woodrow Wilson Middle School. Me, Danisha, in 6th grade and Alice in 8th grade attending the same middle school without realizing that 20+years later our paths would cross again in such a meaningful way.

As our boys became close, so did we. Somewhere along the way we discovered we both went to Wilson… and guess what? 🤣 Alice was NOT my favorite person back then like she is now! While reminiscing, I pulled out my old yearbook and discovered I had literally X’d her picture out 😂 (girl, you must’ve made me mad at some point!)

Fast forward to today after having an impromptu lunch at Houston’s; we drove by our alma mater and said, “Let’s take a picture at our old stomping grounds.” 💙

Life has a funny way of reconnecting people. God places people in your life for a reason, and I’m so grateful Alice became more than just a season in our lives. ✨ taken in Pasadena, California by @_msnisha_
