(A quote I heard) What does that look like for us?
What does that feel like?
What does it mean?
How does it show up? Our plans in life often look different from our Creator's. His design is the last word. So the quote, "God operates outside of time" lands so much deeper and with much more meaning now. The truth of the matter is, when I first heard it, I didn't think of it as a tool to apply. I thought of it as a theory, a guide, a message. But understanding His purpose in our lives is the key. For me, I needed to remain in a stillness of humility, so that the growth out of pain would become my testimony. During a season of ups and downs, I was going through it, watching my world turn inside out, trying to make decisions, make choices, make plans. All the while, life is throwing lemons, pineapples, and pumpkins 😳 as as I tried to hold it all together, stacking one load on top of another. Suddenly, a whisper began to settle in my spirit. I. Got. You. God sits and watches. He has a way of showing up right when we need Him. His heavenly , divine clock says that when He's ready to move, He does, He will, and He has for me. 🙏🏾Proverbs 3:5–6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. My addition: because, God operates outside of time! I know this to be true: the valley below intentionally becomes the space of rest and restoration. For the valley sits in a place where the only thing you can do is look up! "Lessons learned, and teachings continue. I am His student. I stand today in the soil of faith and fortitude as I am still growing in His purpose. God's timing is not just a theory. It's an application of discernment and practice. "We are Blessed as he continues to give us the Gift of Tomorrow…"! ...🧡 Fact, nothing grows in clay. It's too compact, too hardened, nothing can push through it, nothing can take root. But soil is different. Soil holds you in the dark on purpose! And that's the part we forget when we're in it. When it truly begins... Because sometimes what feels like being buried...suffocated...silenced... is actually you being planted. Nurtured. Rejuvenated. It goes without saying: experience is the best teacher. She's the master of wisdom. She teaches you what no book, no webinar, no secondhand story ever could because once you've lived it, the reality sets in. Sometimes deeper than you ever thought it would. The work gives you the experience, but the experience is what leads you to wisdom. I can only speak to my own. Pivoting was-is my lesson. It deepened my experience in the life I was/am now living, in the season I am now entering. We think we know what we know... but the truth is, sometimes we think we know what we don't. And it's only through failed or successful attempts that we find out if the theory was ever true. My own failures have taken me on an inconsiderable journey opening my eyes to things I thought I already understood. I needed to go through what I went through to finally see it: Life 🦾 blooms through rooted soil. No matter how deep the seed lies, the only way it can grow is through the darkness of the soil. So when you thought you were being buried by your failures, circumstances and challenges, you were actually being planted. Rooted. So you could branch in directions you couldn't have mapped out on your own, but that would all lead back to one strong trunk before it ever branched into the leaves and flowers that bloom from your creativity and your growth. You were never clay... I was never clay... You were soil. I am the soil — doing what soil does in the dark, ready to blossom and branch out. And when I fall again... when I'm buried again... ...🧡🦚 RePositioning is REAL! When I first heard the term repositioning, I didn't fully understand it—until it actually became my reality. The truth is, repositioning is not always on your terms. Sometimes, the Hand takes you... you are picked, plucked, and positioned as though you are a piece on a game board. And while you thought you were making all the right moves, suddenly you begin to realize that somehow… you're on the left side of things. Then you have to say to yourself, "Wait… I need five minutes, because I thought I was KILLING IT!" 😂 You were once the key player—confident, comfortable, and seemingly in control. Ohhh… so you thought. Then, in one swoop, you're taken, removed, or simply readjusted from what once felt comfortable. Life… It is full of surprises, and with every unexpected moment comes a story—or better yet, a testimony. And somewhere along the journey, you begin to see it differently. What once felt like being removed was actually repositioning. What felt like being pulled away was actually protection. And suddenly, you can see that His repositioning was actually carrying you through the storm. Filled with purpose and determination, your life is being altered. This newfound journey may still feel foggy, blurred, and even twisted by moments of darkness. But it is through the light of God that you begin to understand… It was necessary. The position you were fighting to hold may not have been the position He needed you in. And perhaps what felt like being plucked from one place was really God's hand placing you exactly where you needed to be. Teaching Testimony!✨ 5, 6, 7, 8...in dance, are the numbers that signify the beginning! The count that tells us it's time to start. From the beginning of my dance journey, I knew that I, too, would one day be saying, “5, 6, 7, 8.” But what I didn't know was how much teaching would become about so much more than counting the steps. For me, teaching went beyond giving the count and teaching the movement. It became about the connection I made with the individual I was teaching; that soon became mentoring or mentorship. I learned to see beyond each movement and really look at the person in front of me. There is such great joy in watching someone work through a step, a movement, or a combination—and then seeing the expression on their face when they realize and say to themselves , “I did it.” That is where the joy is for me. It's their ✨Joy for me!!! It is in seeing my students feel accomplished, inspired, and sometimes even surprised by what they are capable of doing. I know that not everyone I teach is not going to become a dancer. And that has never been the most important part for me. If I can inspire someone, connect with them, and create a space that takes them beyond what they expected of themselves, then I have done something meaningful. Yes, we may begin with 5, 6, 7, 8... But for me, teaching has always been about what happens after the count—when someone walks away feeling a sense of accomplishment, confidence, and perhaps believing in themselves just a little more than they did when they walked in.✨ #flofiyah #teachingisfoodforthesoul #mentor #dance #testimony taken in Queens, New York by @_mz_flo

...🧡 Reflection can be hard, but one thing is for sure...it is humbling. Reflection takes you on a journey that requires you to look within. And sometimes, within is the very place we would rather not confront, for one reason or another. But cleansing has become part of my season of inner reflection. It has placed my soul in a space of stillness. A place where God has waited for me to simply breathe, be still, and feel His presence. In purpose, we can become passionate about our own decisions, our own plans, and even our own timing. But in God’s presence, we are covered by grace. As I reflect, I understand more and more that His purpose is greater, His grace is sufficient, and His timing is aligned. So, reflect.🪞 Look within.🧘🏾‍♀️ And give yourself grace.🧑🏽‍🩰 Because even the difficult parts become lessons in this life that we get to live.
