For an Artist I can't imagine a better and more satisfying outcome than Daniel Buren's installation at the Galerie de la Cour-d"Honneur at Palais Royale.

In 1985 Culture Minister Jack Lang commissioned Daniel Buren to make a large scale work there.
The courtyard had been used as a car park, Buren instead of placing a freestanding sculpture there designed the work around the site.
A grid of 260 Black and White striped columns set at different heights.

You can imagine the fierce opposition there was to this work,construction was even interrupted before being resumed.

Today it is a huge success and Daniel Buren can rest easy knowing that his work, barring some political disaster (WWIII) will be enjoyed by the people of Paris for hundreds of years to come. by @_nickbower

Visiting Marche Vanves again.

I think most people go to the market to browse for individual items, I’ve tried that, it doesn’t work, I only see collages of randomly placed groups of items and how sometimes completely unintentionally they come together in a strange, humorous or beautiful way.

Should have bought that painting on pic 6, think I’ll have to go back next weekend , maybe it didn’t sell.
