On October 3, three designers—Junya Watanabe, Kei Ninomiya, and, of course, Rei Kawakubo, the queen of the Comme des Garçons empire—presented their Spring/Summer 2027 womenswear collections.
Jane Bower was accompanied by her longtime friend Magnus—a street-style icon from Sweden known for his skill in mixing and matching Comme des Garçons pieces—as well as, perhaps, a new friend, Mayuko Kono (河野まゆ子), who is also a longtime admirer of Rei Kawakubo.
A brief note on Jane Bower:
Jane Bower is a British designer and textile artist, stylist, collector, and influential figure in the world of high fashion. She graduated from Studied Fashion at Central St Martins School of Art, London, and is known for her long-standing association with the Japanese house of Comme des Garçons.
Jane Bower and her husband, Nicholas Bower, worked in Rome in the early 1980s as designers for Valentino. She worked as a designer, creating her own collections, and taught fashion fundamentals for many years at the San Francisco Academy of Art. She currently lives in Laguna Beach, California, USA.
Jane Bower regularly attends Paris Fashion Week and Comme des Garçons shows. She is a regular at Dover Street Market concept stores, where she can often be found in the company of other influential figures in the fashion industry, such as Michèle Lamy. Jane and her husband, Nicholas Bower, have been devoted admirers of Rei Kawakubo’s work for over 30 years.

What a magical wedding for my guy @tristanjbower . It was full of beauty, sacredness, and truth.

It had me reflecting on my own wedding just two years ago, when Tristan stood beside me as my best man, supporting me with love and brotherhood as I stepped into a new chapter with the love of my life.

The bond Tristan and Courtney share is incredibly special. They are a powerhouse couple who contribute so much to their community and our lives. I’m grateful that my wife and I get to move through this next chapter of life alongside them.
