For our second edition of on Court Notes, we sat down with @_nickhoag - a Los Angeles–based creative director and film photographer with more than 17 years of experience in brand, marketing, and digital strategy. Alongside his creative work, Nick has spent the past several years photographing tennis on film, capturing the movement, atmosphere, and personality that make the sport so compelling. In this conversation, we explore his perspective on tennis through film, creativity beyond the court, and the moments that make the sport so visually powerful. The full interview is now live on the Sunset blog. Link in bio 🎾 by @_nickhoag

Summer in DC on #35mm. Not to get all philosophical on ya, but what the hell. Sometimes America feels like that crazy talented musician friend you know that’s never quite made it. Questionable decisions and self-sabotaging at nearly every turn, but they won’t give it up. And dammit if there’s not something special in there. If only they could get out of their own way.
