My totally subjective phenomenological-whatever description below:

There are times when the difference between European and Japanese values leaves me feeling like my own values are completely useless, and I end up questioning everything. Because of this, I’ve become less judgmental compared to before. I’ve come to believe that accepting everything positively is, at the very least, more beneficial for life.

I now see that questioning everything is a form of art and academia, and that contemporary dance is an extension of that. So, it seems to suit me. I’ve even started to envy those who can easily criticize others, wondering where their confidence comes from. It would be better if I could quickly recognize that judgment often stems from a reflection of self-love, but it takes me a few days to shake off my underlying ego. Emotions are not logical.

I’ve come to believe that morality and ethics are better understood by dogs🐕 and cats🐈, as they truly know love.

以下、現象学的記述

ヨーロッパと日本の価値観は差があり、自分の価値観がまるで役に立たない時があって全てが疑問に思う時がたまにある。
なので昔に比べて自分はジャッジメントをなるべくしなくなった。全てをポジティブに受け入れた方が少なくとも人生には有益だと思えるようになった。

全てを疑問を持つ事はアートであり学術でありコンテンポラリーダンスとはその延長だと思えるようになった。なので自分には向いているようだ。
人の事を軽々しく批判できる人はその根拠はどこから来るのかと逆に羨ましくなった。
ジャッジメントがおよそ自己愛の裏返しから来ているとすぐに気づけたらまだいいが、潜在的なエゴを外すのに私は数日かかる。
感情は論理的ではない。

道徳や倫理は逆に犬や猫の方がちゃんとしていると思えるようになった。彼らは愛を知っている。

"PaRadox: Practice as Research?" - My Solo Performance at the History Museum of Madrid @mhm_madrid

Long before I was born, there were Japanese butoh dancers who said, "Dance is not a skill but a spirit." On the other hand, I’ve heard that the Japanese Zen spirit influenced both John Cage and Merce Cunningham in the 1950s.

As a Japanese dancer, using Western dance institutionalized norms like phenomenology and the contemporary dance system to justify myself is not something I consciously decided. I simply felt the need to respect human history.

In the end, I know it’s all just for the sake of doing what I love and finding my own balance. Yet, I wondered why I had to face such complexities, so I asked ChatGPT. Logically?—astrologically speaking—it seems Saturn plays a role in this process over my past five years, and also, matters of love are expected to improve by 60% in 2025.

The sense of cultural isolation I felt within Japanese culture began at 19, when I started engaging with Hip Hop dance in Japan. But now, being in Europe, that feeling of cultural isolation has faded.
This is one of the small happinesses I have now, despite Saturn’s influence. I can still love dance at the end of 2024.

Ten weeks to train, research, create and perform.

TEN WEEKS is an intensive contemporary dance program in Madrid combining somatic practice, contemporary dance training, artistic research, creation and performance.

Over ten weeks, participants move through a sustained process of physical exploration and artistic research, developing their own original work — individually or collaboratively — towards site-specific performances during the final week.

The program includes contemporary dance training, Release, Floorwork, Structural Bodywork, Contact Improvisation, Partnering, Acrobatics, Improvisation, Composition, Dramaturgy, Movement Research and Choreographic Creation.

JANUARY 11 — MARCH 20, 2027 Madrid, Spain Monday–Thursday · 10:00–17:00 Program language: English

Previous experience in dance or movement practice is required. Professional dance education is not required.

As a dancer, I am interested in approaching dance from a somatic perspective, understanding it as a holistic process that involves the body, senses, and mind.

By proposing and sharing a movement language that crosses perspectives from contemporary and street dance, I hope to create a space where we can share the beauty and joy of dancing. I also value the process through which each person discovers autonomous and free ways of moving and expressing themselves through their own body.

The class is open level, and the facilitation adapts to the level and background of the participants.

We begin with foundational house steps and rhythms, gradually expanding toward individual expression through improvisation and contemporary movement approaches. By cultivating a shared groove, we explore bodily sensations that resonate with the energy of a communal rhythm ritual.

10/07/23 — my solo part, choreography and direction by Attila Andrasi @attila_andrasi_ , from “NINCOMPOOP” at Bonnie Bird Theatre / Trinity Laban.
This work profoundly questioned my identity as an artist, and I still deeply honor the moment of having had this opportunity.
