My totally subjective phenomenological-whatever description below:

There are times when the difference between European and Japanese values leaves me feeling like my own values are completely useless, and I end up questioning everything. Because of this, I’ve become less judgmental compared to before. I’ve come to believe that accepting everything positively is, at the very least, more beneficial for life.

I now see that questioning everything is a form of art and academia, and that contemporary dance is an extension of that. So, it seems to suit me. I’ve even started to envy those who can easily criticize others, wondering where their confidence comes from. It would be better if I could quickly recognize that judgment often stems from a reflection of self-love, but it takes me a few days to shake off my underlying ego. Emotions are not logical.

I’ve come to believe that morality and ethics are better understood by dogs🐕 and cats🐈, as they truly know love.

以下、現象学的記述

ヨーロッパと日本の価値観は差があり、自分の価値観がまるで役に立たない時があって全てが疑問に思う時がたまにある。
なので昔に比べて自分はジャッジメントをなるべくしなくなった。全てをポジティブに受け入れた方が少なくとも人生には有益だと思えるようになった。

全てを疑問を持つ事はアートであり学術でありコンテンポラリーダンスとはその延長だと思えるようになった。なので自分には向いているようだ。
人の事を軽々しく批判できる人はその根拠はどこから来るのかと逆に羨ましくなった。
ジャッジメントがおよそ自己愛の裏返しから来ているとすぐに気づけたらまだいいが、潜在的なエゴを外すのに私は数日かかる。
感情は論理的ではない。

道徳や倫理は逆に犬や猫の方がちゃんとしていると思えるようになった。彼らは愛を知っている。

I was invited to facilitate a playful, choreography session at the The Playground, Rambert in London. This is a monthly based ongoing event which they organise very often. It is an amazing opportunity to interact, see local artists experimenting with different choreography ideas and approaches.

Yesterday marked one year since I moved to London! Grateful for all of the people, places, and opportunities I’ve been able to connect with since. Here are just a few highlights:

1. Shooing away paparazzi while walking in Kensington Gardens
2. Said gardens
3. The gorgeous space I got to spend the first five weeks of 2022 in at @siobhandaviesstudios
4. Post-assessment fish & chips
5. Caught doing tourist things when I’m trying to be a local 🥲
6. Market munchies with pals before seeing COCK on the West End 🤩
7. Performing at the @vamuseum with @jodyoberfelderprojects (feat. hairy legs and water shoe)
8. My face when I order a second ube milkshake at @rapsalondon weekend brunch
9. The best fellow Canadian in London theatregoing buddy, captured after some bday dancing in Soho
10. Post-afternoon tea bloat & gloat 😌

We were dreaming on air mattresses last week at @chisenhaledance, thinking about radical self-care, healing from traumas, co-existing and promiscuous love. It is a durational performance presented in public spaces.

After pandemics and major changes in the world's geopolitics in the past few years, we can observe how people in the city are traumatised and finding it difficult to see a future where they can participate in driving changes. We are curious about how communities can be activated to collectively imagine a future where we focus on healing and collectivising.

#AirMattressSequence is a playful yet sleepy social intervention, an innocent reflection on our collective traumas. We are resting, also wildly dreaming together.
