2024, I’m out.

In all honesty, I did not enjoy this year but I can’t deny that so many wonderful things happened that will allow me to flourish and grow in all sorts of directions 🪐✨ thankful to end another year in good health surrounded by great friends, family and my fur bbs (btw I teach pilates now hehe) by @_oliviacain

Dear diary 💖
I have always struggled to achieve balance. Until recently, I honestly didn’t know what balance even looked like in my life. I thought working 60+ hours a week for the last several years was something to be proud of; it showed my toughness, my ability to overcome. However, while I was trying to find myself in my career, I didn’t consider how easy it would be to lose sight of all the other parts of who I am. I now know that balance isn’t just scheduling an hour for myself when I can. It’s finding time to show up for myself at all parts of the day. I’ve realized how important having a creative outlet is for me to decompress, to help me change the negative narrative that exists in my head to a more positive and loving dialogue. I now know that when I’m unable to find time to do yoga, my nervous system feels unregulated, which ultimately leads me to feeling unsafe in my own body. I am a work in progress and I promise I will continue to show love to myself in the little ways I know how. It’s the best any of us can do to help us live more authentically 💟 by @_oliviacain

Walking away from 2020 with a new set of emotions, experiences, and awareness. This year I met anger for the first time. I faced anxiety. Felt fear. Considered my purpose, questioned my identity, and doubted my abilities. Whether I feel it or not, I’ve grown and instead of wondering if I’m strong enough, I’m acknowledging that I am.

2020 highlights:
~took a class and became a licensed EMT in LA county
~fell in love with a Kansas boy (go figure)
~gained a cat while simultaneously becoming a dog person
~ recharged my creative side & finally started a project that’s been in the queue (still not finished, but working on it)
~got a chance (pre-COVID) to visit with beautiful friends and explore uncharted territory
~survived. even when I didn’t think I could (featuring: the measles, kidney stones, and a car accident on the 405)
